McCloskey is a better boxer than Maidana and has much quicker hands. Maidana had Khan out on his feet in their fight, if he could get to Khan's chin, I have to believe that McCloskey will as well, and if he has him hurt he won't let him off the hook. I'd make Khan a favourite due to his superior skills, but this will not be lopsided by any stretch of the imagination. Let us not forget that a very limited Breidis Prescott KO'd Khan in 30 seconds, and though he showed major improvement in his subsequent fights, he is still susceptible to the KO.
khan will stop him in the first few rounds salita style, people will be ripped off again re. the ppv prices.
I think Khan will blow him away but you're talking absolute shite. Fat? You idiot! His style is nothing like Naseem Hamed either, he holds his hands low, that's where any similarity ends.
If Maidana could touch Khan up, there's no doubt in my mind that Paul can. And I'm not hating on Khan, I just don't think he's an extrordinary fighter. He's a good fighter, with good speed, etc. but I still think there are flaws in his game. Maidana exposed a lot of those flaws, and if Paul creates the opportunity to knock him out, I think he will.
If he beats Khan I'll paint my balls green and run through the streets of Dublin singing Mollie Malone.
I have yet to see Khan versus a Southpaw. So it will be interesting to see how he handles it and adjust. But I don't see McCloskey KO'ing Khan. Pretty Damn Exciting...Can't Wait!!!
What I worry about for Paul McCloskey, is that he's a counter puncher, and if he does too much waiting, he will give Khan too much time and space to get off with his speed, then he'll move, plus, Paul McCloskey has no glove defense, he doesn't really parry of catch punches, so the jab might land whilst he's waiting. IMO Paul McCloskey wants to cut the ring down, and if he is intent on counter punching, he needs to make sure he punches with Amir Khan, in-between his shots, he cant wait for Khan to stop punching then try to respond, because Khan is too fast and will move after getting off. Ideally McCloskey, whilst cutting the ring down, would want to move in behind jab, to stick the jab on Amir Khan to stabilize his lateral movement, but he doesn't seem have a jab from what I've seen. Paul McCloskey will need to put the bodywork in when he gets inside to slow Amir Khan's legs down, and when he gets inside and Khan shells up, make sure he rips his uppercut up the middle, as Khan has a tendency leans into his gloves when you get close, which is how Maidana kept ripping that inside uppercut on him when he shelled up.
