    18-0!
    British 140lb champ!
Wins over Lynes, Wright and Bazan!
    Fighting Barry Morrison next!

Don't think I know him and I don't think I was aware of any of the above.

What do you people know and why isn't he being mentioned?

Does anyone think he could be world class?

    He's pretty damn good.

If I remember rightly TFFP is a big fan of his potential.

Yes I like him a lot. Still some way to go before I declare him world class, but I think he's got the ability. He already seems beyond the weak European level in this weight class, he beat Lynes very convincingly forcing him to quit, and we saw how Lynes faired with Branco.

There are a lot of his fights on YouTube, all good performances except the one against Wright which was scrappy stuff on the inside.

    Worth watching, his style is...interesting

Why Morrison next - surely that is a step backwards?

Then again I doubt people will be in a rush to fight him.

Watching him on youtube. Doesn't look like the next Calzaghe yet but he looks like a reasonably fast, skilled southpaw. He's doing well.

Followed him for the last 2-3 years, before he made it big with his recent win or 2

Tricky southpaw, bit like a Vic Darchinyan less the power. Chin is untested as of yet.. Throws a wide variety of shots more every angle you can think of, very fast and his defense is based on making the opponent miss with head movement as he likes to carry his hands low and then counter when they miss. His stance alone is great to watch, fights with his legs vey far apart. A nightmare for anyone who wants to outbox him.

Power may be an issue on a world class level to be honest and their are still many unknown factors up for debate, like how he rides a punch.

Him and Lee are Irelands best prospects, in that order

Lynes was beating him early on quite handily but his boxing caved in and he started getting tagged. McClosky is clearly a good fighter but Barrys got a chance in this one.

Lynes had a couple of good rounds early on.

We could easily say McCloskey figured him out and then dished out an ass whoopin'. That's what it appeared like.

Yep.... Those first two were pretty worrying. Initially I watched the first two then fast forward to the suprise ending... He falls into the unimpressive to watch, very effective category.

barnes is banned..........dawes is contracted to an english title........lynes he beat........not sure about the others but thats 3 top names that would have been in the mix

barry is fit and ready for the fight, and he certainly is no step backwards

p.s gilmour had choices on mccloskey after the lynes fight

I suppose Morrison is the best choice...... Daws would be an even bigger step backwards.

mccloskey is very unorthodox but i like his style . hes been fighting in ireland the last couple of years thats why you wouldnt have heard of him in england but i think he can go onto world level . i mean if gavin rees can pick up a title i think mccloskey will . i think he would beat kotelnek no problem and possibly bradley and urango . hopefully fights branco after morrison for the european belt

I didnt think Lynes won a round. The commentators only started commenting on McCloskeys work after they realised that Lynes was being hammered.
