Kotelink and malignaggi fit tht bill minus the dig.

However, you'd be silly not to include Kotelnik as a top 5 jww. He handed Alexander his ass on a platter only to be robbed, and this is the same guy who khan beat 12-0

It's funny how people's opinions of Kotelnik have changed since the Alexander fight. Maybe Alexander is not as good as we thought or maybe he just had an off night. Either way, my opinion on Kotelnik is based on the other 35 fights he's had which were not overly impressive.

For real. I might call him out myself, I reckon I can starch him inside 3

Lol @ McCloskey v Khan, just lol. McCloskey would get ripped apart by Khan's quick punches and the fight would probably be stopped at some point before the 10th round.

Plus I have no idea why people think McCloskey has earned a fight with Khan. Does McCloskey even think this himself? I doubt it

If Khan gets past Maidana people need to give this "he hasn't fought tough domestic opponents" shtick a rest

Yeah you'll just have to land 1 punch and he will go down :smoke

@thread- McCloskey has 22 fights so some people might assume he is young. He is 31! Boy does he need to step it up right now because he isn't getting any younger

You're completely unoriginal as well as being a ******...i call you an dick breathed arse bandit and you attempt vainly to use the same insults on me.

Khan is unproven, apart from fighting a couple of washed up shadows of thei former selves in Barerra and Malignaggi...and Malignaggi had no power at the best of times. Youre obviously a dumb ****! What a sad **** with your pathetic poll...its funny that [men's] poles are the first things that come to your mind you dirty fecker

I (and many others) think youre a complete and utter ****...what are you going to do about it cockbreath?

Shows again how much of a dumb **** you are...Lauri was behind on all score cards before he was KO'd...now **** off back to your boyfriend! Not much of a speller are you, you dumb ****?!

You call yourself someone of status..LOL you cant even spell it!...go to school sometime and learn to spell your own name at least so you can put it on the application form for the Jeremy Kyle show, where you'll be the head freak guest...on a show with your parents about brothers and sisters who had a baby together! You are the reason birth control was invented.

I'm not from Limerick you dumb turd robber!...now go play in traffic!

Just for the record lads McCloskey was 5, 3 and points ahead of Lauri going into round 11

As Brian Peters has already said before- McCloskey's problem is that there are no big names in Europe to help propel McCloskey. (Doubt Kotelnik would want to return to Euro scene) The WBC route would be his best bet since hes #4 with them. So I would imagine his plan would be- watch Olusegun beat Chebah in the eliminator and hope that Bradley beats Alexander which would make the WBC title vacant. Therefore McCloskey-Olusegun for WBC title. Would also mean he wouldnt need a Lauri rematch.

Thats quite a sequence of events though.

McCloskey is a good underrated fighter who would be a hard nights work for any 140 pounder,i think khan would beat him on points but i think paul would beat Alexander and maybe even Bradley..

:iamwiths: thats exactly what i was thinkin....
khan speed would overcome mccloskeys style in my opinion but against anyone else in the division he would have an outside chance

I'm Irish and a Paul McCloskey fan (may as well as make that clear at the start!) but I like to think that I'm not letting the heart rule the head when I say the guy is a genuine contendor and deserves a world title fight in 2011. Seeing as there's a British world champion at light welter- Khan would be the perfect opponent.

In all honesty I think Khan is a great fighter and I don't know why people knock him so much, its true that some of his opponents maybe just a bit too old or just a bit too slow but the guy can only beat whats put in front of him. he's still very young and already he's won an commonwealth title and a world title and has come back from a 1st round KO destruction. I don't think his chin is as bad as people think- he was struggling to make the weight at lightweight and that was effecting his strength on fight night.

McCloskey is trained by John Breen and 2 years ago Khan beat a John Breen trained fighter Oisin ***an in his first fight after the Prescott defeat. ***an broke his ankle in the first round and had to retire in the 2nd. ***an has since retired but I get the impression the whole affair left a bitter taste with all in Breen's gym. They really reckoned at the time that they had Khan's number and I'm assuming the position hasn't changed.

It would be a great fight. I'm not saying Khan is ducking him- I appreciate he may have other plans at the moment but I think he should accept McCloskeys challenge.
