    You would have thought that fight would have already occurred on the old Gillette Friday Night Fights.

    Giardello. Pender was "lucky" to win and retain his title.

    Joey ,better in every department,I never thought too much of Pender.

    Eh, Giardello ran hot and cold and sometimes could be lulled to sleep by defensive boxers. In much the same way that Pastrano was all wrong for a more talented Johnson, I think Pender (who was good at what he did) is all wrong for Giadello.

    Pender I think, would probably eke out a disputed decision in a fight where very little of consequence was thrown or landed.
