Just had an opp on his hand which he said he broke at the end of the first round against Groves. He's had a rod put in it.

That's why fighters should stay away from Frank W*rren. You spend your entire early career on Amir Khan undercards and then when your 28 you start to learn your trade!

Well he couldn't anyway, coz a broken hand or not made little differece to the shot that Groves hit him with in the second!!!

He might just be the most delusional man in the sport.

perfect example of a fighter in a comfort zone. he could become euro belt holder but needs to be active against the lower reaches of the division and meet mcewen ryder and bjs in four or five fights. to be fair, after being crushed by groves, he is right to seek encouragement with new goals. interesting stuff even if he wont be a world contender

Its easy to take cheap shots at fighters on the web , but Paul has had some great opportunities and I just dont think he wants it enough.

I went to see him at the commonwealth games in Manchester and thought he really had something, but his talk in the ring has been that of nothing more than a club fighter. I dont know the man personally so will not disrespect him , but as a pro he has never looked in shape , never impressed and has struggled against very average competition.

Against todays middleweights I think the speed difference will be massive and he will be embarrased.

I heard he would like to move into the media , I think this could be a good idea as he has always been knowledgeably and comes across very well.

    Peace.

Paul Smith is the British John Ruiz, always in ugly mauling fights, really only a British level fighter, but seems a decent guy,i wish him well but world level talk is just nonsense..

I think we need to clarify what we mean by 'World class'.

  15. This is fair.

    I think he's a pretty decent co-commentator.

Strange how someone can otherwise come across as a complete knob - in interviews and on here/Boxrec, and be good behind the mic.
