I agree. Two KO losses to the pair of young bucks should pretty much account for him as a fighter unfortunately. In one he lost every round before a mercy stoppage, the other he was blown away inside two rounds. A move to 160 won't suddenly morph him into a world beater. If he was going to be world class he ought to be able to have done it at either weight. Unless you're specifically built for a particular weight class or your strengths dictate how you fight (Hatton for example) there's no reason why you can't transfer your skills up, half a stone in weight. A middle and a super middle of similar ability should make for a good match at 168. Unless the super is a weight cutter and should really be at 175.
He's the british John Ruiz, always in ugly clinch filed fights,an average british fighter, would be better off calling it a day..
:yep That comparison's actually a bit insulting to the Quiet Man.. Protected dirty paper champ he was, but by golly he deserves a bit more respect than Smegro.
Oh IB your too harsh on Stephen and Paul. If Avidlemon wasn't banned he would have something to say about this thread :nono Have people decided if they are going to hate Olympic hopeful Callum as well when he turns pro?
I think he should make one last REAL shot at 160 or even 154. If he believes he is a 168 pounder than he needs to retire as he is has plateued.
Exactly that. A bully and a power puncher against lower opposition but hit a brick wall against anyone remotely tasty. Good commentator though.
Wouldnt say hurt Groves. Landed, but Groves just looked pissed off for being caught as I remember it when the bell went?
