Paul Smith vs Rocky Fielding

I totally agree, Paul Smith would school Rocky. Rocky has a dig on him, but lacks ring craft and intelligence, think in second half of fight Paul would run away with it

 

With the power of Callums shots he properly would. Would not surprise me if he is the hardest hitting super middleweight in the world. Punches like a top cruiserweigh, real power

 

It would deffo be Rockys hardest fight to date, at the minute could see Smith winning it

 

I would fancy Smith to win rounds in the fight but could see Rocky catching him with something big at some point and stopping him. Be interesting though as Rocky hasn't been tested yet and Smith is a good seasoned fighter.

Due to Rocky Fielding being unable to make Championship weight for the defence of the Commonwealth Boxing Council Super Middleweight Championship, the Board has decided to postpone the above Purse bid due on Wednesday, 9th April 2014.

The Stewards will consider the Championship at their next meeting.


Well played eddie hearn just wat he and team fielding wanted imo. Makes u think doesn't it

 

You must be joking? Smith clearly doesn't want the fight. Wants bums like Tobias Webb for easy defences so he can win the British title outright.

 

So why was fielding so over weight and has never spoke openly about the fight with smith always talks of other plans and paths. Smith isn't the reason the bids off is he

 

I dont think either of them want the fight to be honest. But I think Rocky wants it more than Paul does...

 

Rocky does want the fight, even tweeted about when the purse bid got to be agreed by etc.

It looked like Paul was over compensating on Sky the other day thinking, of every excuse not to face him.

Smith within 3/4. He is head & shoulders above Rocky, who is VERY average.

 

The ONLY reason that Smith wouldn't want the fight is if he sustained an injury such as a cut that would keep him out of the ring and scupper the chance of a fight with Abraham and not because he wouldn't fancy his chances in a ring against Rocky.
At the end of the day, Smith has suffered with cuts badly in the past, the most significant being against Dodson in their first fight.
At the end of the day, i'd want the money to fight Abraham rather than another "local derby" against a scouser. Wolrd title opportunities don't come around every day do they?

 

rocky is good a nough to beat paul smith or callum

 

The more interesting fight would be Fielding vs Callum Smith. I think Rocky takes Paul Smith out late. He wasn't impressive against Adamu but I think he was a little demoralised and unmotivated. He had a couple of opponent changes and probably wasn't sure if he would be on the bill. It's no excuse, he has to be more professional than that. Also he had a messed up hand going into the fight and broke it in the 4th. Adumu is old but he's awkward and I'm not sure Rocky was ever going to look good against him.

 

I agree. But this decision by the board makes me think Fast Car knew exactly what he was doing advising Fielding to not bother making weight...
