Paul Smith WBO Title shot

Come on Billy your not daft you know what's wrong with it. The guy has been dusted by every decent super middle in this country, his last 4 fights have been with people nowhere near world level, he's probably not even the best super middle in his family let alone one of the best in the world. Need I go on. We can debate all day about the rights and wrongs of multiple world champions (personally I think it's wrong) but it's making this sport look a joke when Paul could be calling himself a world champ by Xmas. People say judging and fake needle turns casuals away from boxing, well I'm sure this sort of rubbish harms boxing a lot more.

 

I'm not saying Paul deserves a title shot but he's a creditable opponent for a voluntary and may well cause a shock

 

Ricky hadn't beat anyone at world level before he beat Martinez and he went on to have another 9 title fights

 

paul smith has been a great servant to british boxing and will continue to be for many years, we should be getting behind the lad, not slating him.

granted he aint done much to earn this, but when a bit of luck comes your way you gotta take it.

abraham can be out-boxed and aint a massive puncher at smw, so who knows?

People ridiculed me when i suggested Mathews get a shot, Derrys wins over Crolla,Gethin and Coyle are better then anything Smith has done since 2009.

No he's not a bum aba champ + commonwealth medalist can never be a bum.

I just dont like the mans arrogance and as somebody pointed out the fact he's making out like he's earned his shot the hard way when if you look at at his recent bouts that's clearly not the case.
Also he thinks he's the most intelligent boxer that ever lived you'd swear he's never been wrong in his life!
It must be a nightmare living with him i feel sorry for his wife!

It's him as a person i've got a problem with i simply cannot wish someone well who cannot stand.

I've brought this up before. What annoys me the most is not that he was lucky to get his high ranking/title shot, he whole sense of entitlement about that hes paid his due etc...He got dismantled by DeGale and poleaxed by Groves. Beat a few journeyman and he gets his shot.

He's got to prepared to take the criticism that comes with being gifted such an opportunity. But he is more then likely to continue to sniff his own farts.
