Don't blame Smith blame the system. Three title shots for a fighter who in world level terms is nothing more than a journeyman. 40 years ago the furthest he would have progressed would have possibly been fighting for a European Title.
Yeah, can't blame Hearn for saying what he said (the truth). He's given Smith so many chances at World level (Abraham x2 and Ward), and this shot in particular was gifted to him on a plate, yet he fought like he didn't want to be there. Just went through the motions. Disappointing. Hopefully he retires now. The hunger just isn't there.
I met Paul Smith once he was sound. Also a mate of mine used to be on the england squad with him, he always says he and his entire family are really nice people. he was real good friends with him, stay over at each others parents house etc. He gets s lot of hate on here, i dont think hes that bad.
