I always think him and the rest of the lads come across as sound. He's getting criticised though for getting undeserved chances and not really having the ability to take those chances.
But you cant blame the lad for taking a payday in the sport hes been a part of his whole life...who wouldnt do the same.
After watching the Eddie Hearn interview on IFL, he basically said Paul Smith had a bit of luck, no Paul Smith has had a lot of luck regarding title shots. My issue here was with the WBA, they knew Paul Smith hadn't fought since Sep 2016, at that point he wasn't even ranked in the top 15, suddenly in March 2017, Paul Smith is ranked at No:5 even without fighting. The WBA manipulated Paul Smith Jr's ranking to make the fight more credible. Paul Smith thought he deserved this title shot, and according to Eddie Hearn, 'it's what Paul has given to the game'. What a load of BS. If you get a world title shot then good luck to you. But organisations shouldn't manipulate rankings for their own agenda, the WBA had a shady past, and clearly want to follow that trend with a shady future.
