**Paul "the Punished" Williams

I had to work last nite and havent watched the fight yet..My brother gave me somewhat of a breakdown and said Williams wasnt his usual self and that Quintana had him pretty good with the left all nite...I was pretty shocked when told Williams was beaten...

 

This is really annoying. Why is it that if someone thinks a certain fighter might win a fight he becomes "your boy"? It's stupid.

 

i've always rated quintana.

tipped him to beat cotto. :yep

he's an excellent boxer.

well surprised at this though.

didn't expect him to dethrone williams.

different fights different nights. :deal

 

Over rated hype job.

 

carlos boxed well but there seemed something wrong with paul. he looked either drained or had the flu/.he still could of got the decision but it happens to the best of boxers. it will probably open up more oppurtuniyies for him

 

if you ask me mayweathers record should have 2 next to his wins as i thought oscar and castillo beat him. cotto has also been rather lucky is well. ricardo torres nearly knocked him out and mosley pushed him close

 

MY POINT IS THERE IS NO SHAME IN LOSING. I still consider williams to be a excellent fighter

 

Expect him to move up to Light Middle.

So if williams was the only threat to Floyds 0! what the hell can people say now!

 

I love in boxing how things "take care of themselves". Now the Floyd haters will no longer bellow out how Floyd is avoiding really dangerous guys like Williams. Utter yawn..

Quintana was right in his interview about being able to knock him out early. Had he pumped his jab more and mixed up those overhand lefts more, Wiliams would have been done.

So heres what Williams is. A volume puncher that can't adapt and once you take away his one trick pony (volume punching) away or god forbid he has to fight backwards, he becomes very EASY to hit and he has poor defense.

That overhand left of Carlos was coming and its amazing Paul couldn't pick it off.

 

not me, i picked carlos way back in january.

 

this fight looked almost like Tito-Hopkins with Tito being Williams and Hopkins being Quintana although not on the high level that Tito-Hopkins brought to the table

 

Paul Williams was overated.
Quintana showed that he is the better fighter.
He was much to skilled and too experienced for Williams.
Furthermore, Williams fought a very stupid fight --- one dimensional --- trying to walk Quintana down using his own face as his best weapon.
Williams was billed as the "Most Feared" going into this fight based on his very close win over Margo who started too slow that nite.
Most of William's previous fights have been against fighters with losing records or "Tomato Cans."
Yet many, including persons who regularly comment on this form bought in to Paul Williams being the "Baddest."
Quintana wasnt suppose to go 5 rounds.
