well to me it seemed most of esb thought carlos was going to be a tough customer, but didnt predict the win. So its not like they flocked to paul williams as much as you think. A lot of people on here werent sold on paul, like me, due to his lack of defense, his lack of punching power, and his lack of skill really.
On that note...as I said many ESBers are what I call "flock fans" they go with what they read rather with what they know about boxing and that over reading cloud their taughts and they start to beleive there own regergaration of of the information they read...they never been on agym watch a boxer train, few understand the seet science and the intricasy of styles and waht makes a good boxer or not...now they simply floow the next flavor of the month....guess what this month the flavor of the month was "****" and they all eat it!!:rofl
Really, go to the original thread when the fight was announced and see how many actually decided this was a no contest a walk in the park for PW and wrote Qintana off, more than 85% of the one that posted on the thread did
HYPROCRITE, you go with what you read to, you read about what PBF says and does, and totally disreguard all of his accomplishments and his boxing skills. Either you just dont know anything about boxing, or your an idiot, take your pick :good
I completely overhyped Paul Williams and I will openly admit my mistake. Paul refused to defend himself, and I believe a bunch of those hard left hands whacking him across the right cheek may have cost him the judges opinion. Paul for some reason abandoned his workrate, thus giving Quintana a chance to get inside his jab and set up for those straight lefts and left hooks. vs. Margarito, the punches never stopped coming, vs Quintana the punches never came. I think the biggest thing about last night that we learned about PW is that his style and natural abilities are not effective against a person that is quick and moves well. Quintana isnt even that fast, but he presented a style of lateral movement that PW hadnt seen in the likes of Mummy's and Bull rushers he had faced in Matysse, Mitchell, and Margorito. Of course when someone is coming right for you you can throw tons of punches, but last night, Quintana exposed Paul in the aspect that he could not turn his big frame fast enough to lay tons of punches on a man who moves laterally, quickly. I am a big williams fan because I have met him and he is a real nice guy. I believe he has tons of natural ability and potential, But as honest as I can be, we saw last night that he is nowhere near prepared yet for the likes of a Cotto or Mayweather, or even a Mosley like some people had been talking about.
Dude the fact that I dont respect PBF antics and way of life is my business , and the fact that my principles will not allowed me to favor him on any contest regardles of his many boxing talents, which I have clearly outlined many times, simply says...I don;t like his way...kit is my choice to like him or dislike him as is yours to choose to approved of his antics or not...you choose to approve...I choose to dis-approve...who's to say who is right...only time will tell....
here check this thread out titled "Kermit the Frog leaping from his potential nemesis, THE PUNISHER...", i rebumped it up after last night, but on there you can see alot of posters seeing carlos either winning or giving paul a tough fight. and this was back in january. I dont think many people wrote of carlos like you think.
He started to punish his own reputation when he struggled with Pakau.. I think he is half the fighter that they make him out to be, similariries with Hearns has to stop here..
He didnt struggle with Pakau..after the fight he admitedd he didnt want to hurt him..because Pauls a good dude..he spent the whole fight looking at Cortez wondering when he was going to stop it..get your facts staright.
I thought both guys looked bad last night. Wililams wasn't working and quintana looked sloppy and tired and clinchy the whole fight.
Orishaman dude, you are immature. You keep telling people that they should know boxing, many people pick their favorites, its better than you who only picks puerto rican fighters and against pretty boy floyd. ok, you laid one fight plan out, what about the baldo fight, what about the hatton fight, hindsight is 20/20 emmanual.
If you watched the Mitchell fight..you could EASILY see Mitchell was getting off on Paul at times..and he was a south paw. Orishman is a dumb guy who said" Baldi will muscle floyd".
