TFFP... I can't really pick a winner.... Winkys inactivity will hurt him a bit but his style relies almost entirely on his tortoise defence and jab neither of which are going to be too affected by the lay off. Williams is the man on the up but margarito is a long way removed from Winky. Safe bet would be Winky UD but Williams may have the drive and workrate to nick a very close one.

Jeff Thomas and Jamie Moore - Ex Pros disagree.

Jamie thinks Williams will stop Wright, very big call.

:D That will be pretty sensational. It could happen..... If it does Williams really needs to get a bit of credit. I always feel that when you are introduced to someone via an article that starts 'the forgotten man of boxing' you instantly dismiss them subconsiously. Making that rise even harder.

If Williams does stop Wright he would deserve a great deal of credit...... granted Wright hasn't been in action for the best part of two years, but has never looked like being taken out before and will be fighting at his optimum weight, up against an opponent with only a single relevant win (Phillips) above 147.

I will take the safer option of Williams on points..... workrate will be the key here, it impresses the US judges more than defence, or seems to anyway.

    I see your points.
The general is full of nuthuggers and idiots but you could just ignore they're posts.

It's not so much the nuthuggers and trolls (although this is a problem) but the fact I want to specifically hear from the people here. There will be plenty of these threads floating around in there already.

Winky has the skills to thoroughly outbox Williams, I just can't decide how much the inactive Winky has left, if this was the Winky of a few years ago, its an easy pick.

I think he will roll back the years, I'm going for Winky 116-112 :good

I think Wright will put on a vintage performance. Winky's excellent counter-punching combined with the fact that Paul Williams gets tagged on the counter...a lot....should make for a great sync.

I fully expect Wright to outfox Williams, with Williams winning a few rounds via workrate.

    7-4-1 to Wright

2 quality skilled operators. I think Williams gives anybody he fights serious problems but then so does Wright. If pushed will probably veer slightly towards Williams on points at this stage of their respective careers and Williams having a lot more activity of late. I think Winkay has been out of the ring for 21 months.
