pual vaden a great amatuer champion turned pro and won the ibf light middlewieght belt...later on terry norris bad mouthed him and called him out with typical your a ***** type stuff...so a rap called the ultimate was created:good enjoy Norris wants Vaden? I accept this dare Gonzalez, Santana, etc. it won't compare My quickness of hand has not a peer Your chin resembles an old chandelier You'll see that the ring is my safest home as I accurately drumbeat numbers on your dome "Terrible Terry"-what a suitable name Enraged with fire, can't control the flame I'm smart enough not to listen to what was said Your dumb enough to believe the clippings you read Norris wants Vaden? Symptoms suggests you're scared humiliation is torture! So be prepared Norris wants Vaden? Better think again I don't know how to lose, only how to win Remember what you said to me on the phone? Classiness caused me to dismiss it and take the throne You see, I've knocked too many of your boats To justify your jealous and lying quotes So let me be fair and offer this advice Expect to be greeted each round by ice There's nothing you do I can't endure Whatever you bring, I will bring more Similarities are few concerning the gift of glove You punch from anger, I do it from love But indeed I always prevail, "little misfit" My uppercuts will make you eager to quit Overwhelmed you will be by my speed, craftiness, and size This, "little man", you will, too, soon recognize In Truth, The Ultimate '95
I remember that, and the whole back and forth between the two of them. The fight where Vaden won the title against Vincent Pettway, was one of my favorites from a drama perspective. Vaden was a super intelligent guy with good skills, but little killer instinct. Finally he showed some killer instinct winning the title and stopping Pettway in dramatic fashion while argueing with his corner to shut up and let one guy talk in the corner between rounds. He totally pussed out in the unification match against Norris after putting up such a front.
i feel he has my type of attitude a mental attitude of he likes boxing but not fighting...if that makes sense norris was a pure fighter and vaden was a good boxer who would win fights byko if he could but by no mean did he want to slug and be angry at each other
I spoke with him not too long ago, he is teaching boxing and personal training people. Super nice guy, and I asked him about that fight with Pettway. He thought it was funny I remembered him yelling at his cornermen, about talking at the same time.
