If he had left peterson earlier it would be ideal but now it's hard to change his style or teach him new techniques. Steward would have been a great choice for himsince his specialty is having tall fighters use their size. I honestly thought pavlik and steward would make a great combo as well, but you can't knock garcia with his training experience either even though he comes across as a dick at times. The only thing i'd critisize garcia for is not stopping the margarito-pac fight.

Williams hasn't changed and he's not "ducking", he's a guy who's put in work...made his money, more importantly TAKEN CARE of his money and is more focused on his family and enjoying what he's earned, nothing wrong with that. He doesn't have to grind, he doesn't have to fight the Lara's of the world, he's gonna chill and do what he wants to do, if a big money fight comes along...maybe he'll take it, if not he's cool doing what he's doing. More guys should be like that if you ask me, what's the point in all the work, if you don't stop in time to enjoy it? I take back my initial statement, I guess he has changed, but for the better. Enjoy your life Paul, you've earned it.

Hey Cubano - not trying to hijack the thread but want to respond - the facts are pretty straight. He did keep fighting others - yes - didnt get stuck on the "rematch or nothing" bandwagon - but the whole time Molina has always been chasing a Lara rematch . Here is an interview with Molina after the fight.

    http://www.ontheropesboxingradio.co...o-even-better-than-i-did-in-this-last-fight”/

His fight with conyers was a last minute TV offer call up - a I only commented on this thread cos I spoke with one of Molina's promoters who was very frustratated after dealing with Golden Boy trying to get them to agree to a rematch with Lara. The Cintron was great but even after that he still wanted the rematch.

I'm high on Lara - but I also like Molina and he too deserves big fights. Stoked to see him get the Kirkland fight - albeit a tough one.

Williams has received some horrific beatings. He needs to make some money and retire.

I bet you he would accept a fight with just about every other fighter at 154.

he'd sell his mother for a fight with canelo. i'm not so sure he'd take a fight with kirkland though. a southpaw with punching power? thanks but no thanks. it would be a repeat of martinez.

Too late and Peterson probably still wants the money.

Having the same promoter and manager it was not up to Lara to go for a rematch, instead GBP kept them away from each other to face bigger names: Molina took care of Cintron after a tune up and Lara was fed to PW with the result that we all know.Lara has never been in a position to negotiate fights, he is already having a hard time getting someone to fight. When he went against PW-a solid veteran with an impressive resume and scary size advantage - i though it was the end of Lara.
Molina has been treated like **** by GBP, after beating Cintron he gets denied a fight with canelo and been set up against the bigger striker of the division.Instead Cintron got the "honor" of fighting canelo.
