Williams defense is close to non-existent; I guess you can say his best defense is his offense since he throws such an incredible amount of punches. But his high punch output is what would get him in trouble, he throws so many punches he'd be bound to get tagged by some ridiculous counterpunches. I think FLoyd would win by a couple rounds in a narrow UD. Still would've been a very nice fight, Paul WIlliams is a stylistic nightmare for most WW's when he was fighting.
Floyd is a HORRIBLE matchup for Margarito and Williams. Too much movement for Margarito. He couldnt even deal with Pacquiaos movement and footwork how would he deal with Floyd? Paul Williams didnt even beat anyone to earn a shot at Floyd. Who did he beat? that fight wasnt even in high demand . Anyway, PW had no defense. He'd get picked apart. Floyd would fight him the same way he fought Baldomir. Money TKO Margs Round 10. UD Paul Williams 116-112. Remember how fast Floyd was in 2006. Ridiculous speed.
Paul Williams the Tower needed no defense at 6'2", reach of a heavyweight & Punch rate of a Flyweight he was a real big problem for Mayweather. Thats why the fight was neatly tucked away with Margarito under the 5 year Pacman project
Paul also KTFO Quintana later , don't forget Paul Williams is one of the few great boxers who achieved the feat of defeating every man they faced Defeating every man you faced is better than avoiding them & staying undefeated
Paul had the physical tools to win, but I think his style and defence would match up abysmally with Mayweather. He fought like he was 5ft5 and he was pretty one-dimensional. May should have been able to figure him out.
I'd slightly favour Floyd, despite Williams' height and reach, he was, even in his prime, very easy to hit
