The problem now is that Team Pavlik and Arum have already proventhat they are shady business men so its kinda like that saying "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me!"

Everybody knows that Arum said "I want do business with Paul Williams" so the stunt that was pulled last October and December has left a bad taste in their mouths!

Its hard enough for PW to get fighters to fight him as it is so if Arum and Team Pavlik pull some other stunt It can set back his career!

Kelly Pavlik has no problem finding opponents cause he fights low ranked B and C level boxers! THATS A TWO YEAR HISTORICAL FACT!!!

 

I'm not talking about that, I'm saying I don't think he can bring himself down to that weight in good health anymore. I'm very skeptical of it.

 

the whole point of the thread you quoted was preceding and up to the title. i said his opposition coming up was good. not great/elite but good. and i said he took the title from good opposition. not great/elite but good.

of course i'm disappointed with how things have turned out since he got the title. i know he's disappointed too.

HU said once he faces good opposition he's as good as dead. i'm saying he's already faced good opposition up to and including the title fight.

 

I'm not sure you know what the word 'fact' means.

 

No one at 147 with a name will fight Williams he's really frozen out there. He could do better by staying at 154 and trying to clean it out.

 

Locket was a mandatory and he took him trying to get a fight with JC. Rubio was a mandatory. Espino was mandatory in a sense the ABC's wouldn't give him more time to recover from the hand injury. Probably well over half this board are screaming for Kelly to take on guys at 168. Something started by, and not backed up by, JC. He would not have been given credit for beating Pdub because everyone would suddenly remember he is a true WW. I can't tell you how many people kept insisting Rubio was a LMW before that fight. Most of this board wants Kelly to move up because they think that is the only chance there is of someone beating him. This **** will continue even if he beats all of the top MW's out there. Don't tell me you haven't heard people saying he is only good at MW because he has a size advantage and say everyone at SMW beats him?

 

I mistook what you said by 'his opposition coming up'. I realise now you meant as he was building his way to the title. I - for some reason - thought you meant his opposition after winning it. Apologies.

 

As much as i would like to see Pavlik/Williams i can't blame PW for wanting to move back down to a weight he feels stronger at. Pavlik missed his chance, but hopefully he will get a fight with an elite of the division.

 

Of course I'd like to see him move up eventually and take on the likes of Bute and the Super Six winner, but I respect that for now 160 is his division. Personally - and I can't speak for everybody - if he fights the types of guys I mentioned - HNN, Golovkin, Pirog/Macklin - I'll give him his props.

 

They also had the reports that he was cleared to box by the planned fight date!!atsch

 

PW needs to stop trying to go to 147 no one wants to fight him there. He could fight Cintron or better yet how about a Martinez rematch? There are other options for him.

He was going by what the doctors from the Cleveland Clinic were telling him when he rescheduled. It is considered one of the finest medical facilities in the world. And just to be 100% accurate. It was Williams that canceled the fight. No one says it wasn't justified, but that is the fact. Pavlik just asked for more time.

As far as pursuing the Williams fight, just listen to what Arum said. Sigh or "shut their damned mouths". I think either way is fine with Arum but they need to do one or the other. I saw an interview in person and I think it is 'personal'. He really would love to see Kelly shut their mouths and destroy Petereson's meal ticket.

What he needs to do is give Martinez a remacth ! He also needs to stop going up and down in weight . This will eventually come back to bite him in the ass !

And as far as the Pavlik fight I think team Williams knows that the Ghost will hurt him so I can see why they wot pursue that fight ..I don't care to see Williams at welter ..
