Cintron was actually stopped in that fight if it wasn't for bad officiating and the draw was even worse. Recalling the fight in my head I don't see where Cintron had "success" against Martinez at least not like Quintana had success against Paul Williams.

Maybe you are right in your prediction of the fight; I don't know. However, your same logic can be used to argue for Martinez based on PWs fight with Quintana being that Martinez is a bit faster and wont fade as Quintana usually does.

Quintana blah...blah..blah...remember how Williams corrected that mistake? He learned his lesson from his only loss. Don't be shocked if he runs over Martinez...

 

Cintron didn't have much success and yes that should have been a KO! But it wasn't like Cintron wasn't able to get up from the shot....the kid was acting more hurt than he really was b/c he thought the shot was a head butt.

I like Sergio and felt bad he didn't get the KO, but he didn't dominate like Marg did and although Cintron got the draw with Sergio it wasn't a completely dominating performance.....Hell...Cintron beat Angulo who in my opinion is a very solid fighter but it proved to me that Cintron is no where near the level of guys like Shane, Floyd, Cotto ect.

Quintana never made it out the 1st round in the rematch and the first fight Carlos did exactly what he had to do. I suspected Paul wasnt' his normal self and had an off night....but that could be an excuse...but the rematch spoke volumes and confirmed my suspicion of Williams having an off night.

 

Williams does deserve a TON of credit for taking this fight. Martinez is no joke and Williams essentially took this short notice. Didnt get a full training camp to prepare.

 

He deserves no more credit then any other boxer going out and making a living. This is his job.

 

I would've rather seen Paul take on Dzindziruk.
