Well if Matt Hatton could avoid getting KO'd or out-boxed, he'd probably end up beating Hearns aswell.

Evidently, but both have little chance of upsetting the apple-cart. Nobody in the welterweight or light-middleweight divisions right now could beat a prime Hearns.

Sorry pal, but Neck was on the money. Martinez was always the fall back guy if anything caused Pavlik/Williams to fall apart. He was looking for a fight with Pav at 160.

PW offered to fight at 154, but with Pavlik out of the picture HBO would not put up enough money to make it worthwhile for Sergio to put his title on the line. That's why he agreed to fight at 160. His motivation is still a Pavlik fight if he gets past Williams. Flyweight to yo mamma's weight, it doesn't matter. We still have the best to guys at 154 fighting for a shot at the middleweight champ.

I wasn't happy they were not fighting @ 154 but I guess Martinez doesn't want to put the title up for the money that's in it and they both want to fight for the MW championship. I think Martinez said he was happy to be at the weight. He is in his 30's so it might be better for him physically. It is probably harder for him to make 154 with 5 weeks notice than Williams anyway.

yo are we really going to sit here and argue about 6 pounds?

both of these guys are fighting outside of their natural weight class anyways.... its not like paul williams is making him come out or some ****....to make martinez fight from some insurmountable weight/size disadvantage

paul williams is coming out of his own natural weight class just like martinez is.... only difference is paul had been training for that weight months prior to this fight... where martinez has obviously just started getting ready for thsi weight...

either way it wont make a difference when teh winners name annoucned cause if paul bullshits he can definitely still lose... the weight is no excuse

On the money except for one small detail. Martinez did not "just start" getting ready for 160. Before KP picked PW as an opponent, HBO pre-approved Pavlik/Martinez.

yeah but im just saying... martinez wasnt training for pavlik.... i mean like in terms of his actual training camp

he has mentally known that 160 was a possibility... but i dont think that he was actually have a true 160 training camp until the dec 5th fight was annoucned... you get what im saynig

Ya, I get ya. I'm just saying the weight means diddley ****. It's the best two guys at 154, and they'll probably both weigh in around 156.
