Ishida has been begging for this match up, he seems very confident he can beat Williams, that or he just wants a nice payday.
Williams is shot he looked rubbish against Lara, uncoordinated and sluggish. Ishida will run rings around him.
That is...OK. It can certainly get much worse than Smith, but he's just so hot and cold and has come up short in two of his three biggest career tests (getting upset by the equally inconsistent Lanardo Tyner, and then fighting on very even terms with a shot-to-**** Cintron...and earning the close-but-clear nod from me but without the luck to get it from the judges. If he were truly living up to his talent/potential he would have probably been far more dominant and put a bolder stamp on more rounds against the burnt-out husk of Cintron...) Lara by decision is almost a guarantee. Anyway, it could still be a lot worse. If a really motivated Antwone shows up (more motivated than we've ever seen him) it could actually get interesting.
...or Ishida-Kirkland II. Pop quiz: when's the last time PW looked really good (or, not like a soggy diaper) in a boxing ring? Hint: the two year anniversary was this past Monday. (and even that performance was one that still left many feeling he should have lost)
Hhhhmmmmmm........ I must confess to being intrigued by this fight. Glad to see Ishida getting another high profile fight. Glad to see Williams getting back at it after a really rough go.
Appropriate fight and i'm glad that Ishida wasn't just forgotten and frozen out. Kind of a weak main event though, they need to put on another decent fight on the card.
Its funny, when HBO originally ok'd this fight the first time nobody at all seemed to want to see it and claimed PWill would dominate, so HBO pulls the plug, Williams then looks like **** in a gift decision over Lara and suddenly this fight is now a good fight? Ah boxing fans.
