Lets talk about your chin, Rico. Yes or no: Calderon backhand slap to your face while under water in a swimming pool knocks you out? I think yes, but that's just my personal opinion. I have a hunch you have a god-awful chin.
That punch would have knocked out a horse. Williams was coming forward when the punch landed making it even more devastating. You'll scream glass jaw at any ko that happens.
Yeah, these glass jaw deniers act like getting knocked out cold in the second is the same thing as getting stopped ON YOUR FEET in the late rounds!!!!!atsch
Do you think there is anything to be inferred about the psychological make-up of a person who obsessively insists that all professional boxers that get KOed in this or that round by this or that punch have glass jaws? It reminds of the American senator who railed against homosexuality and was then later caught in a public restroom tapping his foot in his neighbor's stall.
I see the idiots keep askin questions. Paul Williams had a great chin at one time/weight. Took alot of hard shots and kept firing with his a,b,a,b,a,b video game style. The first Martinez fight put a crack in that chin and myself as well as others knew PW was primed to be KOed. He wasn't taking cintron's shots well. Before the Martenez second fight, I knew Martinez was gonna knock him out. He was primed and his chin had been weakened by the accumulation of shots took over the years. Martinez cracked it in the first fight which allowed him to shatter it in the rematch.
Doug Dewitt syndrome. I hate to admit it, but Paul's taken a lot of punishment and it may have caught up to him.
If you think Martinez is "feather fisted" you don't know **** about boxing and you are an embarassment to this board. I don't give a **** what his KO% is, you might as well go with the "Why is Tommy Hearns considered great, box rec said...". Do you watch fights? Ask Pavlik if Martinez is feather fisted, you watched him drop and cut Williams in the first fight, ask Cintron if he's feather fisted, I mean come on dawg this is some rookie/noob type ****.
For the record, I generally like your posts in the lounge, but it's pretty clear you don't know **** about "chins". While I get that this is just a gimmick that helps you feel important and allows you to "have a role" in terms of discussing boxing, you should stick to the extreme socialist/liberal and/or the "support Charlie Z" **** in the lounge because this gig is played out. You guys went from being kinda funny to simply reaching and trying to upset the masses. I would assume someone who has posted as much as you have wouldn't have to "try so hard" just to get attention and generate a response. No disrespect but this is pathetic...real talk.
Martinez is actually a very strong fighter. He boxes a lot and does plant his feet often because he's a mover. When he does, though, he can pack a whallop. He got all of his body into that punch on Williams. I don't know who wouldn't have fallen from that punch.
I don't think P-Dub has a granite chin, but it's good. He just got caught coming forward by the perfect punch. It happens. Look at Marlon Starling, who had a great chin. The only time I ever saw him hurt was when he got caught with a punch a full second after the bell rang against Tomas Molinares. He was counted out, but no one ever accused him of having a glass jaw.
Damn, some of you glass jaw deniers are really hostile. All I am trying to do here is to point out that some fighters have shaky chins. And given what happened to Paul Williams last night, he's CLEARLY one of them!:yep
I just watched the fight. sorry but that was NOT a sign of a glass jaw. That was an unseen, fully torqued shot that has the full power of Martinez combined with the forward momentum of Williams coming in. It was well thrown, well placed, and well timed. It wasn't lucky... Williams doesn't have a glass jaw... it was just a great shot.
