PW is 6'3", and weighted 166lbs for his last fight. They say he makes 147 easily though. I see why they are going to 147, smaller fighters and a possible big pay day against Pac/Mosley/Mayweather. It will be a while before he gets any big fight there though, but it should be interesting to see how it goes.
What happened to "We're gonna fight Paul Williams in December" to "Alright fine..it's Miguel Espino....but if hey, If you don't like it go **** yourself!" The last bull**** we need is another god damn Pavlik vs Williams circle jerk.
i'd like to see him fight clotty since clotty has called him out before. if he can't make WW i'd like to see him beat up on angulo or whateveer his name is
Looks to me that Paul is going down to stay As far away from pavlik as he can. Kelly knocks his ass out and his whole damn camp including Paul knows this so what's he do, goes down 2 divisions. Pavlik would crush him.
An Elite guy who can bang some might be trouble for him, Paul has great strengths but he has weaknesses too, he is very easy to land flush on, avoiding Dzinzurak was a smart move IMO. Williams Vs Berto would be a big fight, one that Paul could win as well.
Not sure why folks won't let it go. Arum said take the fight or shut up. Williams camp hasn't mentioned Kelly since. Just move on folks. Fight ain't EVER gonna happen.
Williams can come down to the welterweights ... I always thought that his next loss would come at welterweight or super middleweight. Coming down to welterweight will put him in line for a fight with Pacquiao or Floyd.
Hey, if he can still make weight it's obvious that the big-money fights are in the WW division now. But I don't think any of the big-money guys would really wanna fight him. As a lot of you guys said, the risk is too high and the reward is too low. I'd like to see him fight Clottey tho, I've always wanted to see that match-up. But would he really make more money fighting Clottey than fighting a guy like Pavlik or one of the other Middleweights? Oh, and I agree that he is DEFINITELY not the "most feared/ducked/whatever" in boxing, whatever division, anymore.
The biggest problem I have with this is that it enables Team Williams to keep playing the same "victim" card they were before because he's going right back to the same division where he was froze out of the biggest fights. What's changed that says Paul now gets those fights? Absolutely nothing. I'd have preferred him to try and clean up the wide open 154 division, because right now what I foresee is more of the same- Williams not landing the biggest fights available and using the "most feared" moniker to explain it away again, never mind that he's the one voluntarily staying there because it most exaggerates his physical advantages. In some ways I can't say I blame him because I think Paul's got more mileage on him than people like to think about and clashing against good Middleweights or Junior Middleweights will only accelerate that. However, it looks like we won't see a Martinez rematch either as a result, and that's a true shame.
Williams/Martinez should of never happened if that ***** Pavlik wasn't constantly injured. Williams should not be starving just to make welterweight. He should be in a weight class that suits him best, and that's the MW division. He's overrated because his boxing skills doesn't back up his hype, he seriously needs to work on his defense, maybe he should take lessons from Wladimir Klitschko.
dude dzinzurik been having management problems for awhile now just got it cleared wasnt his fault. he wanted fights
