    cotto is a great body puncher but hardly the kind that would break williams in half...

    Bad post. Williams had already signed to fight Quintana for one, and Cotto has said he would like to fight Williams. Secondly, reach isn't everything. Cotto will keep his hands high, and come in fast and hrd behind his jab. He will back Williams up, who isn't a natural counter puncher, and destroy him from the inside. Williams STRUGGLES to fight backing up, which is the reason he has such a high punch output, as it usually prevents his opponents from pushing him back. Cotto being a shorter fighter will be able to slip and move under Williams punches much easier then Marg could, and those long arms will only serve as a very big disadvantage once Cotto does. Look at all the best pressure fighters from generations gone: Chavez, Tyson, Marciano, Dempsy, Frazier ect, all guys who were shorter and used their smaller size to keep a tight D and get inside quickly. If anything Cotto is a stylistic nightmare for Williams. Mayweather is a different story though.

    Paul Williams doesn't have much pop, and he certainly does NOT have a greater reach than Wladimir Klitscko. :lol:

    Just to make sure you guys are aware... you do realise that mayweather would be about the size that sharmba was when he fought williams... right?

    you guys are so underating williams, and so underating the factor size and workrate would play in this fight.

    Paul Williams has 24 KO's out of about 33 fights...I would hardly call that not having pop...that's not some sergio mora type numbers there.

    Williams 82 inches
    Floyd 72 inches
    Cotto 67 inches.

    don't understimate his power...paul williams is not feather fisted in anyway...sure he doesn't have one punch KO power but he can still throw leather...more leather than demarcus corley who nearly had cotto on ***** street.

    Ive already said reach isnt everything in the fact that williams has TONS MORE THEN REACH... has anyone even seen him fight? hes got good combo punching, decent speed, decent pop... great workrate, and great stamina, good chin, and YES... great reach and great size...

    i dont know why people feel the need to say reach isnt everything... thats not what anyone has said.

    Cotto will back williams up??????? not a chance.... williams hardly backs up anyways dude, he CIRCLES... WHILE firing off jabs and right hands. and williams bounces around on the balls of his feet, with a constant output of punches.... cotto would pay a big price to get inside... and with williams mobility he will be able to get out of the way of cotto...


    you give great examples of the type of fighters that would p4p be nightmares for williams, problem isnt in their league at all... just cuz you have the style to do something doesnt mean your good enough to pull it off.... also, i dont know how many times those guys fought a guy 6'' taller then thim WITH all the tools, assets, and abilities that williams brings into this fight period, so those examples really dont mean much.


    just remember who it was that told you that williams would beat cotto down if they ever fight, because i garuntee you it will happen.
