yeah i mean.. any body can be put down unless they are masters @ defense which paul williams isnt...

i think if anyone took a clean shot from aa or pavlik they would drop

At 147 Paul has a very good chin. However, at 160 he has not been hit. Let someone who bangs like Zuniga, Miranda, Abraham, or Pavlik crack him a few times, and if he stays on his feet, I'll be impressed.

i can agree with that. he can take punishment. maybe better than he can dish out, but his chin is rock solid. Hes defense is what worries me.

HIs chin is pretty good, although I do think he can get knocked by the bigger guys in middleweight if he doesn't improve on his defense.

i read an interview with williams in boxing news this week. i weren't that bothered to watch him to be honest but he came across as a very down to earth, honest and genuine man. i will watch his fights in future; if i get the chance. more power to him, and yes; he fought some hard hitters without folding. (in the interview he says that he has been down and wobbled in sparring -'as all fighters are'). very straightforward and honset.

Please change that avatar. It's hideous.

Back to topic, Williams does have an excellent chin. Juts wish he would defend it better. Up at 160 he might get caught out against some of the harder punchers.

Getting punched upwards at a 45 degree angle takes quite a bit of force off a shot apparently.. Even Margarito was practically jumping to hit this guy.

Williams has a solid chin but I don't think Mattyshe and Quintana do much to prove that.

Quintana has a bit of a padded record with KOs. He's never KO'd anyone who could be considered to have a good chin (his best KO win is probably Edwin Cassani who lost all his fights by KO before round 5).

Matthyse is in the same category really. A lot of pads against dudes who had eaten canvas time and time again.

He showed a tremendously strong chin against Margarito though.
