For Williams the looking at the camera bullcrap doesn't really sign fights and he's smart enough to know it. They made an OFFICIAL offer(that's when you prove you are serious) and mentioned it numerous times already, Margarito's team showed no interest so he's moving on and knocking others out as he's staying active. Now Clottey is the guy they're going for next, a fight with Margarito might never happen as already half of next year is planned out for Margarito.

 

He already did "shut the **** up" and sent an offer to the best in the division and was turned down. If Clottey isn't a decent opponent next then who is?

 

If Clottey had a strong ethnic consumer fanbase like Margarito and Cotto he would be getting all sorts of better treatment. Arum is doing everything he can with him under the circumstances. Top Rank thinks very highly of Josh as a talent, apparently. They'll do everything they can to build him up, without upsetting their investments.

You don't need a strong ethnic consumer fan base. All you need to do is be able to fight top fighters on a regular basis, and fight on a network that can showcase your talent. Cotto and AM aren't ppv bonanza's. They are just promoted by a sniveling greedy slob who knows how to keep his fighters names relevant. Highly unlikely. When a guy tells another to "Wait" and shows plans for nearly 1 year you know this guy wants none of it and is most likely relying on a possible defeat suffered by Williams at the hands of someone else only to come out and say "See, told you it wasn't worth it anyway" with a few delusional fans supporting such claims.
