Don't really think he does especially when he has better/safer options for good money like Mosley and Cotto just to name two. This is a business as it's a sport, Margarito wants to make some much needed cash after a major win like that, throwing him in against Williams too soon gives Williams all the advantage and Margarito is back to step 1. This fight MIGHT happen, but the way things are looking it doesn't seem likely at all, maybe not even next year and I don't see Williams waiting for 1 year when he already has others options out there.
I know but I thought he was gonna fight Shane too since Shane mentioned his name and said he wanted to fight him. Once you really think about it he has no one else to fight if he beats Cotto again other than Williams.
Yeah, I know. You say "idiotage, and I'm Nallege. You can't even say "idiotege" lol. And you just can't take someone's opinion whose opinion differs from your opinion. You just bash, run and name call.
The division is hardly empty, there will always be others to fight and I really don't think he will take too many big fights after another. It's already mentioned that a decent opponent will be next(could be Mosley or anyone else) then comes Cotto in a big fight/rematch, that's half of next year already. After that there's Berto, Clottey(even if he loses to Williams), winner of DLH/Pacquiao(I know sounds funny but also a possibe), Judah and Quintana. I really don't know what Williams' situation will be all the way to half of next year and if he will remain at Welterweight till then. Williams is already saying he wants Berto after Clottey, that's the WBC and IBF title he's clearly seeking which will make him the WBC/IBF and WBO champion if he gets that far. Then again you could be right and Williams will be the fight they go for after Cotto, all depends if Margarito wins his next two fights and if Williams does the same. Too blurry to guess or predict at this point.
Yeah, too early to predict what is gonna happen. I hope Berto actually step his competition so we can see him in unifications with other fighters in the division.
If Williams beats Clottey I don't see how Margo can keep refusing him. If he also beats Berto, there is absolutely no way he will be able to stay away, because the media will not be able to continue crowning Margarito the Welterweight King, regardless of what happens with him and Cotto... That's why I say Williams ought to go ahead and focus on Clottey, and then Berto, and let the chips fall where they may. If he keeps winning he will get paid mega bucks, and won't have to resort to the calling out game.
When Williams fought on Versus, the announcers made it known that AM refused the 4 mil payday. On HBO, before Shane fought Mayorga, Merchant made it known that AM refused to take the fight with Williams. We know AM isn't scared of Williams, but with Williams talking smack, and the slob advising AM, public perception/pressure...whether valid or not will be clamouring for a AM-Williams rematch.
Ask yourself this does Clottey have the stamina to **** with Paul Williams? And the man hasn't had a legit knockout in years
Nothing wrong with some good talk...especially when you are willing to back it up. PW can say whatever the hell he wants, because these guys don't want to see him in the ring.
