I don't think its fair (pending I haven't seen the fight) to come down hard on him... He has to go to no ends to fight people nobody wants to fight

    Margarito
    Martinez
    Winky

These are 3 people notorious for being avoided... Does he still deserve top p4p mention.. Of course.. So long as he can still make 147 he would probably win the majority of his fights @ that weight...same with 154 and maybe pavlik still as well

I still gotta watch the fight but people have to be fair with the situation... Instead of taking a ***** path.. He fights tough fights in & out... He should be applauded if anything

He gets my respect for taking on Martinez for a start and searching for the big fights, but 'in perspective' yesterday just showcased that he's still beatable.

Nobody is unbeatable... In recent times people look unbeatable because they are walked along the right way

As opposed to paul who has to fight difficult fighters in & out

Martinez probaly made a stake for #2 aside from pw @154 and probably top 5 @160

Paul looked lethargic last night, like he did vs Quintana, not to mention Peterson has him believing all the hype, and that much was obvious last night, because both Paul and Peterson had no strategy and made no adjustments!!!

From what I'm reading I think they figured (pw & gp) that they would just be able to impose their will on martinez and he would crumble (kind of what I thought) but he came out to work

Good learning for both pw gp & martinez... There's not really any more slick fighters from 147-160 left anyways.. Cept floyd but I don't care what happens or what anyone says... Ill take pw over floyd until I see floyd beat pw

I think his massive size is what makes PW a so-called most avoided fighter. He has above-average workrate and that's all.

This is boxing dude... if your man doesn't trounce his opponent (which then makes his opponent a bum by default) he is a bum... ever wonder why UFC is getting so much momentum?

Peterson and P-Dub are obviously a good combination, Mr.Peterson has got Williams were he is now.

But does Williams need a new trainer to harness his natural advantages and stamina and help him in the tactical department? Brother Nazim?

Martinez is damn good but I think it was real, real close. Neither fighter did themselves a disservice and Williams can learn some more from this fight. If he threw 60 punches a round and tightened up his defence he'd be more effective when posed with a stylistic challenge.

Williams. it was proven again last night, is an extremely flawed fighter. He doesn't have a knock out punch, even being the bigger fighter in most of his fights. He doesn't have great defense, he gets hit too much. Come the later rounds, all the steam from his punches seems to go away.

He's lucky a fighter like James Kirkland career has been put on hold. I fighter like James Kirkland would knock out Paul Williams.

Did you see the fight. Martinez looked like he follow what Quintana did to PW in their first fight.

PW is not that good. He face looked like a bloody mess. He was beat up by a B-level fighter. PW has no defense, he has no punching power, his punches lose serious steam in the later rounds of his fights. He's tall and usually bigger than his opponents and that's what gets him by. The moment he fights someone that has power, he's going to get knocked out.
