Paul Williams is a very good fighter that has some good skills but last night showed 2 things that he's susceptible to.. - He has average speed at best and his game can't rely on that aspect at all. Speed ain't something you can add as you wish no matter how hard you train.. The positive thing for him is that he doesn't need too much speed to be successful if he uses his skills the right way. - Last night perfectly showed that Williams doesn't utilize his strengths the right way. He's a very tall fighter that constantly fights small. He doesn't effectively use his reach advantage and never tries to find his range in order to impose his skills. He comes forward way too low for such a big guy with his head first way too often and arms wide open as soon as he throws his shots... He should find his range from the start of fights, fight like a tall man and establish a constant jab while applying intelligent pressure on the other fighter..
"No more slick fighters between 147-160 left" ?! How about Floyd Mayweather, Sergyi Dzinziruk, Sergio Martinez, Felix Sturm and Anthony Mundine? Seriously dude, what are you smoking? You almost speak as though Williams rid Martinez out the way, when in reality Martinez beat him. I want a rematch, because it was just that good, and if you can't watch the fight because your man lost according to many viewers, then you aint no fan.
Yep... there hasn't been a creditable win in boxing since Duran/Leonard I. Case in point... not only is he a bum, the guy he didn't beat convincingly enough is a bum. In fact, there are only 2 good fighters in the sport today and after they fight, one of them will be a bum.
doesnt this sound like what **** pavlik gets after hopkins.. 1 loss and everyone will beat him..the tables are turned...
Because of his present style, Paul will always look ordinary against guys that possess good speed. Last night was a good example !
How the **** did he get his ass whopped, when regardless of the winner, the consensus was that it was ****ing close fight. Since you live in youngstown why don't you tell Pavlik to take care of his yeast infection and actually fight some worth a dam.
Sergio Martinez is the #1 fighter at 154 after last night, but props to P.Will for taking on the toughest fights possible unlike Kelly "The Joke" Pavlik I still think P.Will beats Kelly
Hard to believe you, the most obsessed PW fan in here, haven't watched the fight yet, specially when it was for free on HBO... sounds more like u don't want to deal with all the questions your boxer left unanswered last night! Anyways, as I just watched the rerun on hbo just now, I found funny how Lampley noted in the last rd. that all 3 judges are american and warned the audience about it saying something like "we'll see how much this affect the final outcome".... Another $1 billion moment is Williams' face when he was announced the winner, he was dumbfounded and he seemed in something like total disbelief. Gotta see it, if you haven't or didn't notice like me 4 the 1st time!
before u talk to me why dont u get some intelligence and knowledge on things then maybe i will acknowledge u.
Do you ever talk about anything other than Pavlik? As for you WWM you can no longer say the 1st Quintana fight was a fluke, PW is undoubtedly very vulnerable to slick southpaws.
first of all he always got on here and talked of -wait why am i explaining to u!! and ur right on second part
His chin is very strong though. PW did alot of wrong tactically, but he is very good. He has fair punching power i would say. And no, i don't think he will get knocked out by someone with power. I would say Margarito ahs power.
Against a lot of fighters that's enough. I don't think his size is much of an advantage at 154 and not at all at 160. His workrate will bother several guys no matter the weight though.
