you dont have to have to have an impenetrable defense to be an elite fighter. no one ever said pwilly was a defensive mastermind or had a granite chin for that matter, but he has beaten every man that has come before him, including top fighters, and did it in an entertaining fashion every time out, not to mention he is the only fighter who jumps from weight class to weight class and still pulls off wins. he's also willing to fight anyone and only hasn't stepped in the ring with the likes of cotto, mayweather, mosley, and pacquiao based solely on the risk/reward factor. he is an elite fighter

Well, i guess he is a elite fighter. The problem with Williams is that he was so OVERhyped on this forum before the Martinez Bout. Best P4P, he can win a belt from 147 to 168 and so on and so on.

He was lucky in the Martinez fight, and if he goes higher than 154 he will get brutally ko'ed

no matter how you slice it he would beat majority of 147
    probably beat all of 154
and possibly beat all of 160 as well

what is not elite about htat? he is probably the top 15 boxers in the entire universe currently.... what's not elite about that?

and he is a special fighter

not every day does someone come along with his combination of attributes

Beat all at 154? Did you see the Martinez fight? And he would NOT beat all at 160

he indeed beat martinez contrary to what you, me or anyone else on this planet may think... you cannot change how the judges decided...

the rest of 154 is horrid
and like i said... he could POSSIBLY beat all of 160

after pavlik who is there? that is of any relevance?

If people can assume Margarito loaded against Cotto, then you can absolutely make the same assupmtion.

Paul was able to avoid getting hit cleanly too many times. Cotto's dumb ass wasn't. This is just another way to overrate Cotto as some warrior for losing to margo, yet the man who beat him gets called a KO waiting to happen.

    You ***gots are amazing.

You think he beats everybody from 147 to 160 in boxing history ,both you and NBA cant be taken serious when talking about "The overrated one" you guys have too much feelings for the guy.

He's elite because he's beaten everyone he's fought, in 3 different weight divisions, including guys like Margarito, Wright and Wright.

He's become one of my top 10 favourite fighters. He doesn't duck or dodge anyone, is moving up and down weight divisions to take on the best and has an exciting style. I like that style, throwing non stop punches with his long ass arms. It's fun to watch. He doesn't have much of a defense but so far he's not let that get in the way.

I don't buy the arguement that he's picking on smaller guys. If he can make welterweight why criticize him for fighting there? In fact he's said many times he has to eat so much to fight at 160 which isn't surprising being the super ectomorph he is. It's a shame he had to move out of 147 because they didn't want any. I hope he gets to fight the winner of Pac vs Mayweather/Mosley and of course Pavlik.
