Your argument is about as weak as Paul Williams resume. Felix Trinidad KO'd William Joppy at 160, a much, much better fighter than Andy Kolle, and look what happened to him when he went up against Winky.

its a bad comparison because if paul williams (tito )was to face kelly pavlik (winky wright) pavlik isnt a master boxer

    winky is ....

im saying paul strength @ 160 is decent case in point is that he dropped kolle
i say that in relation to a hypothetical matchup between paul williams and kelly pavlik.. a match where paul williams strength will be important because it will be a battle of attrition unless paul proves to us that he is a master boxer (whihc we havent seen from him yet)

tito's strength @ 160 was proven to be great against joppy except in the match up with winky it was irrelevant because winky is/was a master boxer and developed a gameplan to nullify tito's stength

    you get it?

Paul Williams is exciting as hell and always fun to watch.

In hindsight, knowing what we know now, think how big that fight between he and Margarito really was.

    Go Paul!!

:huh No, I don't get it. Are you saying that PW can hang with Pavlik because he was able to KO Andy "tomato can" Kolle, Andy Kolle who the only other time he faced a real fighter in Andre Ward was stopped?

Pavlik actually has more than just hype and a KO against Andy Kolle to show that he has power at 160 and why he'd starch Williams.

The fact that we're even talking about Williams in relation to guys like Pavlik, Winky, Tito, or even Joppy, before he's really done anything noteworthy aside from narrowly outpointing and surviving Margarito at 147 seems rather ridiculous to me.

Let's keep this in perspective. He's never had a successful title defense. He's fought and beat only 1 top ten 147 fighter in Margarito. Carlos Quintana was borderline top ten and was ranked up there by virtue of beating Paul Williams. He's had only one fight at 154 against a respectable, but 39 yr old Verno Phillips. I understand there's a shortage of good American fighters right now but this is ridiculous. He needs to at least show that he can hold and defend a belt at 147 or 154 before I'll even entertain the idea of him facing or even holding his own with the top fighters at 160.
You need to stop smoking that crack.

Yes sir, and really it was a hell of a fight then, but now it would be hyped up to the rafters and no less than PPV.

    Go Paul!!

Paul seems like a good kid, he is very active, and he is fun to watch. I remember seeing him when he only had a few fights, and I expected him to grab a title or two before long.

However, he runs his mouth a bit to much. All his smack talk about Kelly Pavlik means one thing: He allowed his alligator mouth to write a check that his humming bird ass can't cash. If he fights Pavlik anytime in 2009, he will end up taking the kind of beating that often ruins fighters. In 210 we may be talking about a whole different story.

Right now Williams is like that. Let's see if he stays on that track once he is the one calling the shots. A lot of guys are willing to fight anyone anywhere at any time when they are trying to make a name for themselves or trying to get another chance at glory but when they are on top they carefully pick and choose.
