Pac, cotto, shane... guys who all deserve to be above paul williams (cotto is iffy but probably so) are guys who paul should be able to fight at 147 but because of the politics of the sport or unwillingness to fight... paul will never get the chance to fight these guys... bhop who is also above paul could wind up fighting paul as his next matchup pavlik who is also probably above paul could see paul somewhere down the line as well...

    chad dawson-joe calzaghe (doubtfully)- jt-clottey-berto-

are guys who paul could potentially meet down the line.... as a stated a while ago..... i really hope paul keeps working hard and winning...due to his ability to sift threw weight classes (147-168) he has the opprotunity to do something EXTREMELY special

Do you think Hopkins v Paul Williams at 168 could happen WWM?

    He's the definition of P4P.

He has the opportunity to do something special as you say, but he needs more success at each weight first.

If he could beat a top guy in each division - 147: Mosley/Cotto, at 154 somebody like Martinez or Dzinziruk, and another top guy at 160 either Pavlik or Abraham, it would be hard not to put him very, very high indeed. Perhaps even the #1.

The P4P list is irrelevant. Everyone who is the three divisions he is fighting in is avoiding him like the plague. Cotto won't fight him. Pavlik won't fight him. Mosley won't fight him. Margorito won't be fighting anyone. PW is caught in no man's land. Too much risk to fight him and not worth the reward of beating him. I can see PW fight the fringe guys like Wright who had big names, but are clearly out of top contention.

  8. It would be very special.... but that would be a hard ask, alot easier said than done

WWM, if you could map out Paul's next several fights, at what weight, and against which opponents would you match him? Where should Paul go from here?

where paul goes from here is weird because i never saw him going to 160 and fighting winky... his size makes so much possible...

its factual news that he wants to go back to 147 and get some big names.... cotto or shane most likely but the likeliness of those fights happening are slim to none...

    the next division = 154..

we know that paul wants a big fight so that basically cancels out the entire 154 division maybe getting vernon forrest but i highly doubt that

    then we get to 160...

he wants a big fight but pavlik is busy with mora and supposedly aa after that ... thats the rumor floating around atleast.... so pavlik & aa are disposed of

so getting very ambitious we go up to 168..

paul is on record (espn.com) saying he would take a fight with bhop... bhop isnt doing anything right now because he decided to not take that adamek ( i think ) fight....

so i think of all these options i might try to toss pw in there with bhop.... its an enormous risk but if pw can pull it off somehow .... it makes paul one of the most elite... if Not the most elite in the game..

me personally.... i dont like pw against bhop... bhop is too crafty and i think hell get take advantage on pw in the counterpunching department but who knows....

this guy has 4 divisions to choose from.... its hard to predict what he would do at this point...

so i would probably either go with bhop.... or maybe wait for pavlik and hopefully snatch him up after mora...

    what do you think?

Paul Williams should be below BHOP, Pac, Marquez, Hatton, Mosley and Cotto in the p4p rankings.

Everyone fighters big fights WWM. But for the most part, fighters beat other top contenders before saying people are duckin him. As good as Williams is, his resume is still pretty thin. His biggest wins are:

    1. Winky
    2. Margarito
    3. Phillips

Who is Paul WIlliams to say he wants Hopkins, Shane, or calzaghe, yet says a young fighter like Kirkland isn't an option?

Paul has THREE Division to choose from, not 4. But he should try to establish himself more in one right now.

Looking for only big names when your resume is rthat thin makes it look more like he just wants pay days. And I don't think that's what he's about. He has buzz, and should capitalize opn it with more strong wins, not look to figjht guys like Calzaghe or Hops, who have no reason to face someone like Paul.
