Paul Williams is not as talented as you guys give him credit for.

Fight at 154 shows a choice fighting at 148 shows that Margo was having a hard time making weight. Both guys arent welterweight, both guys should be fighting at least at 154, the problem with Margo is that he loses all his advantages when he moves up to 154 and 160 would be a nightmare for him. Williams I think will be ok as high as 168. Both guys have the chins to fight as high as 168 but Margo isnt going to be able to wear those bigger guys down the way he can Welters and he isnt talented enough to fight another way. And another thing. Isn't there only 1 inch in height differential between margo and williams? If you're going to ***** about williams being too tall for welterweight, you have to lump Margo into the same category. And as far as that's concerned, if the fighter makes weight, he makes weight. Simple as that.

Arum was not interested in a immediate rematch , even if margarito ask for one which I don't remember hearing , Arum would not have Ok it .

 

Hell he wasnt OK with the first Williams fight. I think that Arum knew that Williams would be a really tough fight and wanted to make the Cotto fight BAD...Back to Back L to Williams would have been too much for Margo to have been taken that serious.

 

he is gifted with unusual size and reach and still make welter.

he isnt turely talented, his speed and skills are minimal but his workrate and stamina....and chin come to think of it are amazing for a guy of his hieght

 

A bunch of haters. You guys bring up him losing to Quintana, if that is soo bad as you all try to make it out to be, why in the hell do most of you all love Margo, the man who lost to the man that Quintana beat.

 

No, Paul is 6`1" and Margo is 5`11", 2 inches, like said before, if Paul is too big then Margo is too. How about being consistent.

 

Nah man....the rematch spoke volumes. The only way to erase a defeat is to redeem yourself against your conqueror. Paul had an off night....just looking at the punch stats without watchin one second of the fight you'd know something wasn't right.

But actually watching what transpired during the 1st Paul W vs Quintana fight you'd KNOW right off the bat that Paul was abnormally sluggish and lacked pop. A far cry from what we are accustomed to seeing when Paul enters the ring.

He's very polished, sharp and active. He looks slopply at times only b/c he is so tall and lanky at WW, but Paul is overall a very solid fighter....he has the tools and skills to be considered great, but he needs to prove that by being consistant and beating the best while preforming at a high level as he's been doing.
