Goosen was ask that hbo wants the Clottey fight but Goosen makes a good point that Clottey just lost his last fight so Williams facing Clottey is a step backwards. I bet many here that hates Williams will say Williams is ducking to fight Clottey.
williams is being mismanaged (obviously) this would be a good move for williams because he would grab a belt if he wins as meaningless as these belts are, paul needs one to have ANY reason for someone to want to fight him... when he vacated 147 to fight verno phillips that was the biggest headscratcher ever... why?! he should've held on to that belt... eventually, he would be like the 900 lb gorilla in the room when people talked about who was the real champ at 147... instead, he has no belt, no fanbase, no WEIGHT CLASS, and no opponents dzinziruk is a good first step to re-establish himself in a weight division
Agreed 100%, and it isn't a weight issue because he said so himself that he could easily make 147 if he wanted to. He also looked great against Quintana in the 2nd fight, I guess a first round KO will do that for you lol.
No one SHOULD say he is ducking clottey! That would be a one sided fight with williams throwing hundreds of punches per round and clottey staying in his shell up to the final bell. 11 rounds to 1 PTP!
Tell me about it. I guess since Clottey performance vs Cotto that they feel Williams vs Clottey will be a great fight and Clottey is bit well known then Sergei. But i feel as Goosen said facing Clottey is a step backwards. Sergei is a fight that makes sense. I hope hbo wakes up and realize it.
