This is what some thought after he lost to Quintana but it never happened. People are leaving out some important factors about the fight with Martinez vs Williams, one it was a short camp for both guys to get ready only a few weeks, Williams was getting ready for a guy with a completely different style. Two Martinez has a completely different skill set then any of the other potential opponents for Williams.

Mosley is all wrong for Williams and I have always thought as much, the problem with that fight is Williams will fall into range and Shane would open a can on his ass, but Shane isnt a counter puncher so there is a chance that Williams could outwork Shane. Mayweather is a great counter puncher, the best in boxing today, but he doesnt have the power maybe to keep Williams from coming forward. Although he has the skills to outbox and avoid being hit all night. Pac would never fight him, but if he did he would have to jump up to land shots.

But a great point was made earlier in this thread about Williams being an HBO fighter which will almost ensure that another HBO fighter will fight him at some point.

Williams/Martinez drew a live gate of less than 3000. If you smeared Paul Williams with horse **** and honey, and set him on the back porch on a hot summer evening, he still couldn't draw flies. That's why he gets left out in the cold so often. The rest is bull****.

No its not, because Pavlik is a guy that has to fight a Hopkins level fighter or in his front yard so that his broke high school buddies can afford to come watch. If he steps foot outside of Ohio they have to give away tickets to fill the front row:lol:

Dzindziruk would be a good option.

Actually, Pavlik might not duck PTP now because he may see him as vulnerable after last night. He beats Pavlik!

At the same time, PW showed why he's still avoided. HW reach, towering height, incredible work rate and activity. And he showed a ton of heart last night. He just keeps on coming. Martinez, as good as he looked, was all but exhausted by the time the fight was finished and it's mostly because PW made Martinez work in every round.

PW does have vulnerabilities, but he's also one tough guy to handle.

Williams does need to rematch Martinez, but I worry they're going to take to damn much out of each other. Especially if they have the same type of fight again.

Maybe the rematch could be for the 154 pound title next time. Martinez earned the right to get paid well enough for it.

I would like to see Dzindziruk fight Martinez and/or Williams and the 3 of them sort it out @ 154. When Kirkland comes back, he will be a lot for any of them to handle, but I've been high on him for quite a while. I still want to see Pavlik/Williams. Pavlik's style is easier for Williams than Martinez's style is for PTP.

Williams would not have to do nearly as much work against Pavlik. Four or five rounds, and Pavlik puts Stick Man down for a long nap. Only guys with Paul's dick in their mouth, and shameless Pavlik haters will debate that.

That's not a sure thing. Could it happen? Sure it might. Both guys have taken a lot of punches now! I am neither, but you're getting **** for you insane nut-hugging BOO! Not that I care, but I am ****ing with you and am very let down with Pavlik. Maybe he will redeem himself, maybe not. It's not because he lost to Hopkins because you already know I thought that would happen.

I would love for Paul Williams to get KO'd by Mosley but he is not a draw. The reason being is because some PTP nut-huggers still think he handles Mosley or Mayweather. I still say that is delusional!

If Mosley got the chance to land that flush like Martinez did, it would be lights out for Paul. I like him, but never believed he could beat either. I still believe he beats Pavlik, but Boo if Kelly proves me wrong, I'll be the first to say so!
