Williams has options if he beats lara. He can chase a rubberstamp, he can rematch cintron or chase cotto/alvarez.

If he's serious about welterweight there is ortiz or zavek, a win over either puts him right back in the mix.

If he still has anything left he'll be a force for anyone. Victories over margo, quintana, phillips, cintron, wright, martinez. He has good victories between 147 and 160. He needs another good victory in his chosen division if he wants to be taken seriously tho. Lara is a perfect crossroad fight and will put him top ten at middleweight but I don't think he wants to stay there, I think he wanted an easy training camp against a light hitting marquee opponent.

Did he dodge guys at 135 and 130? No. Okay so this is from 140 and on.

at 140 he fights 2 title eliminators with Corley and Brussles, before getting his shot at Artruo Gatti. He blows Gatti apart, literally right in front of Cotto and Hatton, and both guys treat his name like the plague until he moves up.

So after his 140 campaign he fights a tune up at 147 against Sharmba Mitchell and then signs to fight Zab Judah, Judah still had to fight a mandatory but the deal was inked. Judah loses his mandatory against Carlos Baldomir, retains the IBF/IBO belts because of some sanctioning fees and him and Mayweather fight their already signed match. Mayweather wins this fight, and this is where the marriage of Arum and Mayweather dissolves. Mayweather then fights the now redhot Baldomir, who had just crushed Arturo Gatti, and gets his hand broken and wins a lopsided boring decision.

After that victory it was on to fight Oscar De La Hoya, who Mayweather stated before the fight, would be his last Pro Fight(so no *******s, haters, Arum dick riders, he didn't say this to avoid plasterfist.). They fight, Mayweather defeats De La Hoya.

Now following that win, and seeing giant Dollar(or Pound) Signs Ricky Hatton finally finds his voice and decides to trash talk Mayweather after dispatching a washed up Castillo(watch his fight against Herman N'goudjo right before that). They fight, Mayweather dominates him in one sided fashion and retires like he planned to.

Take 2 years off, and back comes Mayweather.

This time against Juan Manuel Marquez, who like Hatton saw Dollar(or Peso) signs and decided to call out Mayweather, who was getting antsy anyway. Mayweather complied and came back and found out to the tune of $600,000 that he could no longer boil down to 144. Mayweather dominates Marquez, which was supposed to set up the Mayweather-Pacquiao fights. That didn't happen, due to drug testing and animosity between Floyd and Bob(you want to see the fight get made, have bob Arum get sent to the nursing home the fight would be made in an hour.) But like fighters before him, Shane Mosley saw how to get a fight with Mayweather, open your damn mouth. And he did during Mayweather's post fight interview. And they fought. Mayweather won. and now we wait.

He blatantly ducked casamayor and freitas at lightweight. At lightweight he should have chased zoo rather than gatti. At ww he never should have retired.

ZOO is not how you spell that. Anyways, he did want to fight him and if I am not mistaking TSZYU did want to fight Floyd at the time Floyd wanted to fight him. You can't blame Floyd for that. He even called Tszyu out several times after fights.

I guess that's what Sergio meant to say when he said PAC picked and chose his opponents at 147! At the end of the day Serg and Paul have a right to their opinions. I understand their frustrations but to come out and say the two BEST in the sport have somehow taken the "easy" route is laughable. Especially in PAC's case....but, they have an agenda and they are working an angle to set themselves up in a postion to lock in a career defining fight.

Williams is very inaccurate though, has big technical flaws, and has limited defense. That is why Quintana was able to pick him apart that one fight.

He has all that size but he doesn't use it at all. I think he is to flawed for Mayweather. If he had an DLH type of jab in his arsenal then maybe.
