he said no one (elite) wanted to fight him at welter and he was testing the waters at the weight.

margarito was offered the biggest purse ($4 million) of his career to fight williams FFS

the fact that he was willing to even fight pavlik was proves my point

i'm not comparing him to henry Amrstrong don't get me wrong. just asking wether he can hold titles at 3 weights, much easier today off course but still soo difficult

When Williams can hold just one title for more than one defense, then we may proceed to the next step!

So much for the "Paul Williams is not being overrated" theory!:patsch

Margarito can make more money right now fighting a bigger name oppenent. Its sad but true. He can let PW wait, like PW made him wait, and it actually serves him better financially to let Paul go make a bigger name for himself by beating another top welter (pick one, anyone) because it just makes the rematch that much bigger.

PW wasn't willing to fight Pavlik. It was hype job and you've taken it hook, line, and sinker. If he was willing to fight him, he would've fought him, not name a price and when Pavlik and his people agreed, come back and say you want $250,000 more and then back out of the fight. C'mon now. Its best that he didn't fight him though because it would've crushed all the hype he's been able to create thus far.

Still got no answer to my question, guys.

So I'll dish out modern names like Roy Jones Jr., Oscar de la Hoya and Roberto Duran

If it's just about winning a title it MIGHT be possible but no way a fighter gets it done to win the undisputed championship in 3 "original divisions" it's nearly impossible, let alone reigning simultaniously in those at the same time.

Life is just too fast nowadays...

which makes henry armtrong soo great and 2 or 3 on the all time list. i agree undisputed in 3 weight classes in this boxing climate is impossible...undisputed in one is proving a big hurdle for many reasons. However one way its easier is you don't have to fight the best in the division to called "champion" because of all the alphabet soup titles

    Wishful thinking. :D

Let me see him fight a ranked 160 pounder . . . then we can make a logical opinion on this. :deal

    112, 126 and 135 aren't "proper" weights?

At least one other person (Hearns) has done 147-160-175 as well.

All at the same time is what made Armstrong so ridiculous, and no, Williams can't do it.

I think he has a very good chance to do that. Hank fought the best each division had to offer. Williams has a ways to go. He'd get big time props from me if he could hold them simultaneously. Imagine Armstrong holding the featherweight, lightweight and welterweight titles simultaneously. Incredible isn't it. Williams WW champ, JM, and MW. Hank did this during the days of only 8 division. Incredible. 126, 135, and 147. Williams if he were to achieve this feat, would be a champ at 147, 154 and 160. It is incredible what armstrong did isn't it? lol:shock:  :bbb

Armstrong is the ONLY champ as far as I know who has held world titles in 3 different divisions simultaneously. He went up and down in weight and fought guys while holding 3 titles. Incredible. We aren't talking about going up and winning multiple titles. That is great also, we are talking about holding them all at the same time, and defending them...lol
