Paul Williams nuthuggery is getting out of control.

Why is Paul Williams god all the sudden? He's a good fighter but damn! I give him props for knocking Quintana out in the rematch, and his win the other night was also pretty impressive....but than again who the hell was Ande Kolle? I have the feeling these new Williams fanboys are also Mayweather groupies that need a new guy to worship now that Floyd retired (hopefully for good).

Look I like Williams and his attitude. He'll fight anybody and he's willing to take risks so i'm not hating on him at all, nor am I comparing him to Floyd. What I'm saying is, let him prove himself a little more against the top guys before you start acting like he's the GOAT. :good

There is a healthy mix of people who either give him too much credit...or not enough.

I agree, he is a damn good fighter, one that is a hell of a fight for anyone in and around his weight class. But for every one post about him being god (which is laughable), there is one about him in the other direction (which is also laughable).

I try to ignore the nuthuggers and haters (god I hate using those words) and just focus on the substance of the good posters....tho admittingly there is maybe one of those for every 10 the other way nowadays on here.

I read everyday on ESB about how Maragrito is scared of him and he's gonna be the next Henry Armstrong....the fact that he's getting so much hate and nuthuggery is unmerritted IMO. I should have entitled the thread "The Paul Williams nuthuggery and Hate is getting out of control" in all fairness.

 

You're absolutely right....I think the point I'm trying to make is, with William's threads lately, there seems to be a shortage of "good posters" and a surplus of Haters and nuthuggers...thats why I compared him to Mayweather in that respect because Williams threads seem to always break down to name calling and internet thuggery between people on opposite sides of the spectrum.

 

Williams is a very good fighter, and I liked what I saw of him recently in his KO of Quintana and his win over Kolle. He also owns a recent win over one of the hottest names in boxing right now. However, there seems to be more people on this board who DON'T like him, as opposed to those who do. Or maybe it's just that the anti-PW voices are particularly loud or active.

I think most objective people on this board and in the boxing media give Williams just about the right amount of credit.

 

I would favor him over Clottey, Collazo, Mosley (at this point).

I would slightly favor Cotto and Cintron over him.

Against Margarito, it would be a 50-50 fight.

Versus Pavlik? Well, he better stay at 147.

 

Is it any more out of control than the Margarito nuthuggers? :huh

 

I dont think hes the GOAT but I find it difficult to find many fighters that can beat him that are a welterweight...
