It doesnt make sense at all. The only reason i can think of is that Pavlik was seriously hurt and had to pull out. I mean he obviously had the styles advantage over PW. Definately not over Sergio.

Nobody's saying they don't like him (as far as I can tell). The way he fights is a major part of why we do like him. It's just that, as exciting as it is, it's not always the smartest way to fight given his natural advantages.

    He could be top 3.

I think the term that suits Paul's style best is "spray and pray." He's a basic pressure fighter who overwhelms most opponents with volume.

If he beats Martinez a second time, he will become the middleweight champion of the world, and he will have a freaking truck load of natural middleweights gunning for him. He better start working on technique because his current style will not be very effective when facing naturally bigger/stronger men.

Paul Williams is really underrated around here. He's tall and lanky, so what ? This sport is about weight, not height. I could understand the hate if he was a boring fighter, keeping smaller fighter at distance with his jab, but he and Martinez gave us one of the best fights of 2009. Also, you can't say that he's cherry picking is opponent after fighting guys like Cintron, Martinez, Quintana and Wright in his last 10 fights.

    it does explain a lot.

Paul Williams always goes into a fight with a gameplan but no plan B.

Paul Williams has been Marketed awful he can't even sell out a 2,000 seat ballroom. The guy has skills and is fun to watch but his management have dropped the ball with him. he should be more of a draw at this stage in his career.

If anything PW is overhyped on here and on ESPNs rankings.

But its only a matter of time. That chin is cracking and Martinez will finish it.
I really wanted to watch this fight live but i wont be able to make it.... damn it....
