That's always been my one problem with him. He calls out guys who weren't obligated to fight him or called out big names from higher divisions. He should have dropped the WBO belt right after he won it from Margarito.

Williams v Cotto seems like an appropriate match up after last weekends events. If PW can take Cotto at 147 then he deserves to be mentioned for a shot at the top guys. Its a shame he hasnt been given the chance to fight the elite at 147 though, thats just the nature of being so freakishly tall. Mosley-Williams or Cotto-Williams is the right fight for him right now, not pacquiao yet.

Hes talking like he is above clottey, but he might want to sign it as a quick fight, come down and clean him up and get rid of him so there is no talk about him being a gatekeeper at 147, that loss to quintana was a big setback even though he beat him the way he should have in their second fight.

If PTP had it his way he'd be fighting Clottey instead of Martinez. Clottey was the one who rejected the offer to replace Pavlik.

PTP will fight anyone but not under any circumstances.

If Williams can still make 147, why is he fighting Maritnez at 160 instead of 154? The more this kid speaks out loud the more convinced I am that he has the same problem as his trainer: Diarhea of the mouth and constipation of the brain.

Because he was preparing for a fight at 160 against your boy. Besides Martinez didn't want his 54 belt to be on the line so it kind of worked out for both sides.

This would be a great fight, but no way Pacquiao steps in the ring with Paul Williams.

Martinez agreed to 160 because they didn't put up enough money to make a title fight worth while. Paul reportedly weighed 157 at the time. He could have easily made the weight, but instead they low balled Martinez, and insisted on 160. Williams should forget 147 and 160, and just settle in at 154. That's where he belongs. The top guys at 147 aren't going to fight him. The risk/reward ratio is all wrong. At 160 he takes a career threatening beating and ends up slumped in a corner. At 154 he can rule the roost for several years.

Imo he's physically capable of fighting in any or all 3 weights. And Martinez' unwillingness to defend his title is more of an indictment on him than on PTP who was caught off guard by Pavlik pulling out and was left scrambling to find a dance partner on short notice. Fighting PTP on HBO represents a far superior stage and financial proposition for Martinez than defending his belt against nobody's in Spain like he was rumored to.
