I actually would have liked to see PTP vs Mayorga. It would have done alot for PTP's name recognition as casual fans still like watching Mayorga's fights and would have gotten a chance to watch PTP maybe for the first time. Mayorga would make PTP look really good and it would be an excellent tune up for a potential rematch aganist Margo.

That would be a good one. Mayorga is a exciting fighter.

Kolle is a decent fighter. Nothing special, but not a bad one for a WW's 160 debut. His only lost came from the hands of Andre Ward, but he was dominated. I wonder why Williams wants the MW debut so badly, I think maybe HBO is involved and still wants a January Kelly Pavlik event.

Please don't make that fight, make Pavlik vs. Abraham! Williams should fight Margarito or Cotto or Berto or the Mosley-Mayorga winner, then maybe step up to the 154 class if the WW boyd won't want any part of him.

Williams is 6'2" tall, that is tall even for a middleweight. Pavlik is 6'2" tall and he is seen as a tall middleweight.

As far as Kolle goes, he got the tar beat out of him by Andre Ward on the undercard of Raheem vs Freitas.

I dont think so, it dont make much sense for Williams to go up to 160 in Sep back down to 147 in Nov then back up to 160 in Jan.

Couldnt be a dumber idea. So this is the idea: Vacate a title in one of the deepest divisions in boxing, fight some cabdriver at 160. In the process ignoring big money matchups that aside from being more credible could possible make him a WW king? This is it folks.....no it's not a dumb idea its the stupidest ****ing thing I've ever heard from Starvin Marvin

Anybody considering potential ramifications with his Nov fight at Welter?

It would be ****ed up if he dropped the title at welter because he suffered problems with weight.

Good point, if he's fighting Collazo he'll need to be healthy otherwise he'll suffer a beatdown much worse than the first Quintana fight

It seems to me at least that dropping down to welter from middle in two months and still maintaining a semblance of a regular training camp might be a bit much.

I think this is an unnecessary sort of risk for Paul Williams...even if the guy is nothing more than a lukewarm tomato can.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. By the end of 2008 Williams will be fighting at Middleweight(I guess I was right in that aspect) and will hold a belt in that weight class early 2009.

Williams isnt having an easy time making weight, No one should be shocked that he is making the move. My guess is that once he makes the move he wont be coming back down. I think calling it a dumb idea is short sighted, not to mention that he may not have a choice.

Say it till you're blue in the face because nobody gives a ****. He ain't holding **** at 160 in 2009 but Dibellas nutsack......Why not try and beat the guy who beat Margarito, his name is Daniel Santos....I know that would require balls, only Starvin Marvin chopped em off to make weight

He's not vacating the title. In fact, he'll be fighting on Nov. 29 as well, at WW, for the WBO title.

Is it Collazo or the cabdriver?
