He's fighting on both Sept. 25th and Nov. 29th. The September date is at MW. The Nov. date is at WW, and Collazo is tentively scheduled to be his opponent.
Kolle in September on Versus, and another fighter at welterweight on HBO in November. I doubt it will be Collazo. Dan Rafael says Collazo and his team were asking for waaaay too much money.
no way should he jump up there. He is giving up all of his advantages. He would be schooled badly by the likes of Pavlic or Winky. He should stay at 147 and 154 where he has his advantages. THere is still a ton of fights to be made in those divisions.
nah I think he could do well at 154, the talent pool there isnt as deep as 147 or even 160. He will still be bigger than a lot of the 154 guys and its not a big leap. But at 160 those guys are going to be stronger than him and his reach wont be as big of a deal either. Then he will have problems especially due to his style.
It's pretty novel of P-Will to take this fight, cab driver or not. Would there be any other titlist in this day and age that would take a one-off fight two weight classes above and come back down and defend his title two months later? Pacquiao's got the first part of the equation but I would all but guarantee he's taking a slight vacation after the DLH fight.
It's pretty gutsy considering he already has a fight slated for HBO on Nov 29th at Welter and just 2 months prior hell be fighting 2 weight classes above his current division. I don't know much about his opponent but anytime a fighter moves up 2 divisions a risk is being taken and so I find this act to be refreshing and I respect the dude.
I think it's safe to say that PTP has learned from that fight considering he annihilated Quintana in their 2nd fight. Ill give him the benefit of the doubt and support this decision.
The Welterweight champion fighting at Middleweight. Boxing should just get rid of weight classes all together.
