Williams seemingly does struggle to get fights but, that said, he definitly has more options available to him than Andy Lee.

Would Lee be the biggest guy Paul's ever faces? Anybody know what Andy's reach is?

yeh its good to see Lee aiming high but he needs to do something spectacular to get these big fights. The joke fight tonight (keep busy or not) and a rematch with Vera isn't going to do anything.

Paul Williams is a HBO fighter, that can fight in 3 weight divisions. Theres a list of 10+ fighters HBO would want to put him in with and Andy Lee isn't even in there train of thought right now.

Fight someone ranked inside the top 10, then the top 5 and earn a world title fight.

We keep hearing about Lee being a big star in ireland and the US, but his last fight was in a 2500 arena in ireland, and his fight tonight in the US isn't on TV.

At the end of the day, this isn't slagging of Lee its just stating a fact, he needs to do less talking and do soemthing big and meaningful in the ring.

I do however think its a fight he could win, Williams hasn't impressed me at any weight especially Middle.

Would anyone agrue against the opinion that John Duddy has more chance of landing the Williams fight than Lee and EVERYONE knows he'll lose...

There's no harm in aiming high Rob. It's not a fight that will happen soon but in 12 months Lee could be in a different position.

As for Lee talking too much, when has he ever been one for talking?! This was a bloody interview...what do you expect him to do in it?!

Also, in the interview he states that this was a very late notice fight as Manny wanted him to stay busy...no problem with that at all. Better than sitting on the sidelines.

In fairness I think he's trying to line up good fights to build himself up but they haven't been coming off. I'm hoping his next fight after this one will be against a good ranked opponent.

Lee was fighting in his hometown which is pretty limited venue wise, that's not to say he couldn't fill a bigger venue in Ireland, of course he could. After Dunne he is the most popular and well known fighter in Ireland. As for tonights fight, if the other fights end early it will be shown.

Yeh i pretty much said that. Just would be nice to hear him calling out Barker vs Macklin winner or someone around 20-10 in the world. If he fights Williams this year he gets destroyed, if he fights 3-4 tough fights and gets him at the end of 2011 its a fight he can win. You can't bypass the top everyone ranked 25-3 and fight the elite, you need tough fights. Look at what happend to Kevin Mitchell.

We have heard Lee and Steward talking about him being a potential world champion for a number of years, fair enough but at least back it up. After this he needs to do something meaningful otherwise theres no point him even being discussed at the world stage.

Fair enough, if its limited move him to dublin or another big town. If he can get 5,000 in an arena, he can attract a better opponent and move up the rankings quicker, its pretty simple.
