hope so. irish fans deserve a world champion but i don't see it being Andy Lee I am afraid.

I don't think he'd pull in 5,000 in Dublin at the minute. He could do but it'd have to be a Euro title fight at least. As I said, Dunne is a different case as he is from Dublin. Limerick to Dublin is a shite journey to make so he'd lose a lot of the 2,500 from there who couldn't make the trip.

For a European title fight I'm sure it'd be in Dublin. For the moment though his Limerick fights are just a showcase for the Irish fans and to keep Lee busy. Big fights in the US are his real aim. If a euro title fight was offered i'm sure he'd jump at the chance though.

 

JCCJ only looked good because Duddy was standing right in front of him using his face as his defense.

 

Happy lees looking to fight the best, should be applauded not ridiculed.

 

Who the **** wants to see this. Williams is an elite fighter who should only mix with champs and P4P fighters. He has no business being in the ring with someone like Andy Lee. Andy Lee has alot of rebuilding to do and it ain't gonna be via a Paul Williams. He needs to work his way up. He has some good comeback wins but now he needs to get in there with someone real and look to put himself in a top contender position. As it is, he is taking the route of least resistance and as fighters lose he will find himself in a top ranking.

 

yeah i agree williams should be giving rematches to fighters like cintron and Sergio martinez not wasting time with a club fighter like andy lee whos been troubled and embarassed by fellow club fighters

 

I believe Lee when he says he would like to fight Williams. He doesn't trash talk and you can even tell by the way he was wording it that it wasn't a "call out" so to speak.

Fact of the matter is, Lee is in no position to be fighting a top 5 P4P champ. He hasn't even fought a 12 round fight yet. He hasn't stepped up yet. As I said, it wasn't a call out, although I am sure that if Williams did offer Lee a shot, he would take it. But let's be honest about it, that isn't happening right now. It makes no sense.

Can Lee beat Williams? I can't see him knocking Williams out but I can see him outboxing Williams for periods. But the problem lies in his stamina. Lee has shown poor stamina so far in his career. Williams throws as many punches in round 12 than he does in 1. It was the difference in the Martinez fight. If Williams didn't stay so busy in the latter half, he most certainly would have lost against Maravilla. Right now, I think Williams would stop Lee late but I think Lee would outbox him for the first 5 rounds or so. Lee is a fantastic boxer. Steward knows talent when he sees it.

Lee needs to get a 12 rounder in against a decent fighter. He has the talent, if he can improve his stamina, the world is his oyster and he can beat almost anyone at 160.

He will get a world title, not sure about being top dog. Not at least while Golovkin is around. But I am very confident he will be Ireland's next world champion.

My 2 cents.

 

Lee does have poor stamina alright. Watching the Belghecham fight again, he was wrecked at the end of the 9th round, and the 10th he couldn't keep him off him. Although he was grand in the 10th round against Gibbs, he wasn't as pressured in that fight. I'd be worried about at the moment facing any fighter who could fight for 12 rounds.

 

Paul williams cant take 160lbs punching power not now not ever. Lee doesnt deserve a fight against williams and wont get it and rightly so.

 

There is nothing to suggest he can't. He has been knocked down but never truly hurt in is career. A well timed punch can put anyone on their arse.
