Why do you think hes looking to go down to 147lbs when he can rematch martinez for the middle weight championship of the world?
Martinez isnt ko puncher at 154lbs nevermind 160lbs and everytime he cracked him his head went 180 degrees. Kermit cintron a powerful guy at 154lbs wobbled him everytime he connected with his right. Pavlik would of koed this guy without a doubt.
Now dont get me wrong williams is p4p fighter and a great fighter but he is extremely vulnerable to a big hitting counter punchers from what i can see.

That's complete specualtion on your part. You have absolutely no idea how he will take a big shot from a 160.

Secondly, Martniez isn't a big hitter and had Pavlik all over the shot with sharp punches.

Thirdly, since when does Lee have Pavlik's power? Lee relies on technique, he doesn't put everything into his shots like Pavlik. I am sure he won't take out Williams. Williams is a tough ****, way more conditioned than Vera and Lee couldn't take him out.

The whole idea of a boxing forum is speculation incase you didnt know. Secondly i didnt mention lee in my whole previous post , you did. Thirdly again i never mentined lee so i didnt say he has pavliks power or any of the **** you said. And to finish if paul williams believed he could compete at 160lbs he would jump at the chance to rematch martinez for the the middle weight championship of the world and not be looking for the smaller guys.

Fair enough on speculation and we will all have different opinions but it was you that said he wouldn't take a shot from a 160 like it was fact. Not disrespecting your opinion I'm speculating too.

Paul Williams is hanging around at 147 simply for the fact that there are about 10 bigger draws at 147-154 than there are 160. There are no big names at 160 now. Hell, Foreman is a bigger draw than anyone at 160.

He will never in million years get a fight with mayweather or pacman and the next big money fight out there for him and that HBO and pretty much every boxing fan wants is the martinez but he doesnt fancy it because he knows he cant hang with the big boyz.
Now if he rematchs martinez i will retract my comment about paul not being able for strong middles.

at welter or light middle no one wants to know williams, chavez is protected by arum, forget sturm he can,t leave germany and will have a easy mark or two for next fights, its williams or martinez, and he's mentioned williams, if he can get another good win over a decent fighter, i think he will get his chance.:good
