A must fight ... this is a fight that needs to happen ... there hasn't been a unification bout in the welterweight division since Spinks v Mayorga.

I personally think that team Clottey should do what it takes to get that fight because its the making of a good fight and bother fighters have a decent name.

Who do you guys think will win?

I'm picking Williams late rounds stoppage ... I think that Williams' consistancy throughout 12 rounds will be too much for Clottey.

Williams is a far better fighter than Margarito and it will show if him and Clottey were to face off.

I really like Clottey, but he doesn't risk enough with his tight defense. Williams will take it on volume of punches.

Williams will outwork Clottey, and take a wide UD.

That's definitely a possibility but Quintana wasn't busy either but he countered very effectively and i think Clottey is just as good a counter puncher as Quintana except he's bigger, has a tighter defense, is stronger, and faster.

As long as the shots Clottey is landing are flush and hard, it could give him rounds versus Williams' volume. I would love to see this one. Williams and Clottey both fought Margarito but they haven't fought each other.

I think Williams will not only outwork Clottey but I think that same work rate would cause Clottey to either fight or fold, either way he's in serious trouble.

He can't have that defensive shell against every one ... he's not really defensive minded when you think about it ... its just a high guard ... he does get hit even though he has his hands high.

if clottey decides to be a little more agressive he could put PW in real trouble
clottey hits hard and PW defense isnt that great

but clottey will stay in the a la winky defense and will get outworked PW by ud

Clottey has good defense and is an effect counterpucher but the difference between Clottey and Quintana is that Clottey is a pressure fighter that likes to come forward while Quintana is a slick boxer that uses his feet and circles, stays out of range and times his counters here and there. Clottey's style is taylor made for Williams, who's length and volume of pitter patters will give Clottey fits and make it difficult for him to get inside and get off. This one will come down to the judging and whether they give Williams credit for punching Clottey's gloves or not. I'm going to say Williams by decision unless Williams is starched making weight simply because if Margarito couldn't wear him down, I don't think Clottey will. In my eyes, I think Paul Williams needs this fight more just to legitimize himself and prove he's not some flash in the pan like Carlos Baldomir. But I think boxers like a PBF, Cotto, or even Mosely and Judah will give him fits. From what I've seen so far, the guy only knows how to fight one way against guys that stand right in front of him. I actually think Delvin Rodriguez matches up better against Williams.

Clottey is a stationary counter-puncher..quintana is one that moves well which forced williams to lead..where he's vulnerable.

Williams is too big for Clottey. I don't see how Clottey could win this fight. Style wise he has nothing to offer really
