I can see CUevas smoking the modern (though lesser in ability) physical equivalant to thomas hearns

Williams was not as good at using the jab like hearns. he never made full use of his physical advantages

As long as Williams doesn't get clocked by a crazy hook from Cuevas early on, Williams prolly wins a decision in the USA.... Down in Mexico I see Williams getting robbed....

i don't know bill, i think it's been proven williams can't defend against the straight left worth a ****. the left hook will probably find home a couple a times and that's all cuevas will need.

    Cuevas KO 10

Cuevas, as legendary as he is to Latino's, is not and never was as good or as strong as Sergio Martinez is between 154 to 160 pounds...... I'm guessing Williams can out slick the reckless, wild, powerful but easy to nail Cuevas---if focused....

Also, Cuevas doesn't do well with movers who are 6 feet plus in height and own a wing-span the length of a football field......

true but we're talking a 147 williams. he beat a punching bag in margarito and went 1-1 with quintana. in the end, cuevas was a legendary puncher, far above martinez in that department. a slightly drained, lazy and **** defense williams imo gets knocked out. cuevas may be easy to nail but so was williams and williams has very little elite level power

I'm not claiming that Williams was on Hearns' level, but the one-sided result of that fight leads me to believe Williams would probably take it, less one-sidedly.

Good point, Bloodman........... I thought early on that Williams was gonna be the Y2K southpaw version of Hearns, but that didn't happen....... Williams is a bust, while Hearns is a "Haller" up in New York....

Williams's defense is too shitty for me to pick him against a guy with elephant-heavy hands like Cuevas.

Williams is tall and rangy, like Tommy. He also doesn't have the jab, power, boxing skills, punching technique, use of range, etc...of Hearns. He did **** up Quintana early in the rematch, but I wouldn't count on that happening here. Williams probably builds an early lead with his activity but his tendency to leave himself more open than a 5 dollar hooker bites him in the ass here.

Williams can't get out of the way of punches, and Cuevas was a huge puncher. This wouldn't end well for Williams.

An inevitable painful ko for Cuevas. Williams is far from being a Tommy Hearns. Cuevas would catch him and injure him like he did so many opponents.
