How do you think this fight would go? If you don't think Paul can make 147 anymore than simply use the Paul Williams that used to fight at 147 instead of the current one. I think Paul takes it by t/ko around the 8th.
If Williams can still make 147lbs & feel 100% comfortable.... Then Williams by K.O. If it's a weakened Williams then Willy by UD.
I'd crap a brick of shock if Berto saw the bell. Two bricks if he got a decision afterward. Edit: Actually, I find it next to impossible for Berto to win that fight in any manner whatsoever.
Berto will try to hold throughout the fight like he's slow dancing...he will fail and get KTFO in the process. Paul Williams KO 7
Well, Berto's chance resides in the fact that Williams has poor defense. However, Berto has some pretty bad defense as well. I wouldn't completely rule Berto out though.
Maybe but I don't see him hitting that hard, letting them go that much or landing long enough before he's smothered with Paul's work rate. Paul traded with Margo all night long, a big welterweight. I'm not exaggerating when I say I think it's nearly impossible for him to win via any method. I think it's one of the worst fights he could possibly make.
Margarito had bricks in his gloves and still couldn't hurt Williams. I don't believe Williams can be hurt at 147. One underrated quality of Paul Williams is his remarkable chin. Hes only ever been buzzed by Martinez, and he recovered very fast. I think he has a Calzaghe like chin where due to his balance when he gets stunned he gets knocked down but he doesn't seem to be the sort of boxer who is easy to knock out and certainly not a boxer who can be KO'd in one punch. Berto stands no chance but if he has the balls to take the fight he deserves props.
I wouldn't judge him that harshly just yet either but he's a guy who can show signs of being thrown off easily, and get a little bitchy and jumpy about it. Sort of Cintronesque.
Yeah, the kid couldn't follow a gameplan to save his life. I thought this was clearly seen in the Collazo fight and Urango fight, and Quitana was outboxing his ass and he had no answers until Quintana gassed out. I don't see anything special about him other than the fact that he was an Olympian from Haiti.
This is certainly true. Though I don't think Cintron would fight that long with a torn bicep, could be wrong though.
I've said this in another thread but, I've been wrong about Cintron before, so I won't say whether I think he would or wouldn't because I thought Angulo would give him a panic attack and he was pretty cool-headed in that fight and won it well. And you know, Berto may end up surprising me but I don't have high expectations for him and I don't think he's an elite p4p type fighter or will become one.
