Can someone answer me this? Why is Williams seen as the next SRL when he's only beaten Margarita? Seriously though, Margarita isn't even that good anyways. A busy fighter will often prevail against Margarito anyways. Why does everyone like him so much? (I mean Williams). I really don't understand this hype! Margarito I understand. He's mexican, mexican people love him, he's got power, he's big. Hatton I understand, he's British, a nice guy, a little boring but has his moments. Cotto I understand, he's very good, Puerto Rican, good fan base, exciting to watch. But Williams? Can someone answer me?
Even if you're good counter-puncher you can do you job good against guys who have (much) longer reach. Considering floyd is a MASTER counter-puncher this will be no problem at all. There goes the theory from guys that think Williams can win just based on this:-( :huh Williams is NOT the counterpuncher floyd is. He has NOT the reflexes (defensive ANd offensive) floyd has. So the advantage won't make a significant difference. Maybe just a slight bit but that doesn't win him the fight. Peace
Williams looks lanky and uncoordinated still. He has a long way to go. Floyd would pick him apart. Jump in and jump out. Pot shot all night long.
Floyd beats williams easily. In the later rounds against Margarito, Williams started to fade and Margarito was getting to him. How do you think PBF would do in the later rounds against Williams? TKO baby!!!
Hmm, but then it's more like a ''win'' instead of a real win. I mean let's assume floyd lands the cleaner blows, then the question is (if your scenario happens) how will it be scored? Then I still think floyd will/has to win because he landed more and cleaner. But paul might indeed steel/win rounds with being so active. I am still going with floyd mate:good haha
I can see that happening! But at the same time I can see Floyd winning a decision or ending it on a perfect punch. This fight is truly a TOSS UP. I can't call it but I'm leaning slightly towards Floyd just b/c he's such a remarkable talent.......if I was going off what each man brought to the table MINUS the talent....Paul would be getting the nod in my opinion. Paul is the only one between 140 & 154 who has the best chance at beating him.
It is not easy to throw so many punches against a great defender. It has been the same with Floyd and Bernard. People who usually throw a lot dont throw that much against them, why? Because they don't see as many opennings, and when they see them and fire, they get countered. So what I am trying to say is that there is no way that Williams throws over 1000 punches if he fights Mayweather, and I would be surprised if he landed 100 for the fight.
No one is saying that Williams is the next SRL....but Antonio Margarito is a very good fighter, soild all the way around. He is a dangerous opponent for anyone at 140 to 147. For you to say without a bat of your eyelash that Marg isn't even that good is laughable! For 8 Yrs Marg was unbeaten and he was fighting very good opposition and dominating. He wasn't beating the likes of DLH, SHane or the floyds of the world, but they weren't exactly knocking on his door either...they were more or less avoiding any talk of a margarito fight. The reason WHY Williams is getting alot of "HYPE" is b/c he was the only one who was up and coming who "CALLED ANTONIO OUT"! No one else wanted to fight him...Paul took that initiative and most said he was too green, not expeienced enought and didn't have what it took to beat a very seasoned and relentless champion who was also didn't looses for years before meeting williams. And Williams has some crazy physical attributes. He's got the frame for a light HW but packs it in to a WW body. It's nuts. With that kind of reach, height and size he will give anyone at WW trouble. Then you gotta factor in the style he has....it's a cross between a relentless pressure fighter and Boxer/Puncher since he moves, shows angles and uses a lot of upper and lower body movement. He's not GREAT at any one thing but he is very soild and good at everything...the pressure he applies when he fights is intelligent and at the same time unrelenting. His Hype is deserved by beating Antoinio...his confidence is something that any champion needs and it's scary to the rest of the division...not b/c they are afraid of Paul but b/c they know a fight with Paul won't be anything close to easy.
It would be difficult for Floyd to stop Paul at this stage in his career from throwing 100 punches a round. He's is still young, hungry and confident. Floyd has always been confident and he is in his prime but just off of the things floyd has been saying shows that his heart isn't in this sport like it once was...that doesn't mean he would loose, but that is a factor that could contribute to his first loss to a guy with the style and physical advantages that paul brings to the table. He may have a hard time landing 100 punches but I'm sure he'll be able to do so after 12 rounds. Paul has very VERY good defense considering how many punches he throws. Floyd will be able to land but not as easily as you might think. This fight is very interesting and very hard to call, but Floyd is always the safest bet.
yeah becuse Williams is a stud right? Iron chin. You guys are giving him a little too much credit for one notable win...atschatschatsch
