im a kelly pavlik fan if he catches williams I think he can bust a jermain taylor On Him, but as much as I dont wanna admit it, P Williams would probably be the favorite now, his long lanky arms and height... hes what ****ing 6'3... But hey itd be a pick em fight id wanna see it homie

Pwilly has NO business in the ring with Pavlik until he puts some muscle on his skinny assed little frame. Not knocking him, just stating facts. Right now the weight difference on fight night would be too great and Pwilly could get seriously hurt. I am dead serious about this. It shouldn't even be sanctioned.

i am surprised we don't hear more from walk w/ me in these threads about p will and pav....

i like pw, i think he is a class act in and out of the ring. but until he shows he can take a flush power shot from a true 160lb banger, its hard for me to think he can keep that work rate up. on top of that, if bhop can't stop pav after hitting him w/ everything but a steel chair from the front row, i don't know how pw will keep pav off him. pav will catch pw flush...and how will pw react??? booradley has posted on this and says he sees 200 punches a round from these two before pav eventually catches him and takes him out...and i tend to agree...

i would like to see pw get a few more fights in at 154/160 to get used to the weight before getting in there against pav.

Williams isnt that much thinner then Pavlik, but I give the edge in power to Kelly. Heres something to think about. Pavlik got destroyed by Hopkins, yes at 170 lbs but it was still a schooling. Williams dominated Winky Wright, a guy similar to Hopkins in the sense of being a good defender and counter puncher with a solid chin and a wealth of experience. I know that Paul beating Winky at 160 lbs is different then Hopkins beating Kelly at 170 lbs, but it is something to think about. I'm not saying that Williams will beat Pavlik but maybe Kelly shouldnt be such a strong favorite over Paul Williams at 160 lbs.

i feel like kelly has everything williams does he's just naturally bigger and hits a SHITLOAD harder. this would be a very bad fight for PW imo. if BHOP said kelly's shots felt like sledgehammers when they got through they're gonna feel like shots from a cannon to paul.

2 problems: that wasn't the same winky as the guy we will all remember and paul has very little defensive ability. his main defense is his incredible workrate and offense, which pavlik possesses as well.

paul williams can easily make 160, he beat winky wright but williams frame he can even make 168 he wanted to fight chad dawson before, yea dawson would Ice His ass but still... Pavliks a great power puncher but i think his boxing ability Is Limited

kelly's got the same workrate and their punching accuracy is comparable. the only advantages i think williams has is slightly faster hands and he throws every punch in the book from all sorts of angles.

I'd favour Pavlik at this point, too many question marks over Williams against a real middleweight.

I see where people are coming from, but I don't think its a mismatch. People thought Hoya-Pac was a mismatch, size isn't always everything, and what Williams lacks in pure bulk he makes up for in arm length, height, speed and probably a slight (though only slight) edge in skills.

I've never seen Williams really effected by punches, so there is hope.

I think it would definitely be a good scrap. Two tough hardworking fighters going at it. But like people already said it would seem a little too much weight for Williams to handle right now.
