Got to disagree on one point. It only goes 7-8 if PW had some time to grow into the weight AND retains his speed. Right now it goes 5.
*sigh* Did you see Pavlik out box probably the BEST Jermain Taylor we'd seen since pre-Hopkins? How about did you see PW get outboxed to **** and back by a WW? True though, it is good that Mr. Hopkins "decided" to be the first fighter in Kelly's 36 fights to decide that simply moving laterally will just totally ruin Pavlik's game. Now EVERY BODY can do it, just like p4p #4 ATG Bernard Hopkins.
Quintana's most effective punch against PTP strangely was his overhand left coming from the southpaw stance. Conventionally south paws are most troubled by the straight right from the orthodox stance which hasn't really been the case with PTP. We all know Pavlik's primary weapon is his terrific one-two but I haven't really seen him do significant damage outside of that combination. I also don't see PTP standing in front of Pavlik and allowing him to tee off. PTP has the benefit of studing B-Hop's performance which is something that JT never had. PTP is far more faster on his feet and with his body rhythm than is JT not to mention his superior hand speed. I'm not ready to guarantee a PTP win but I do think he possesses the ingredients to pull off the upset.
This is why IMO it would be a GREAT fight that all the fans would get behind, AND NOT ***** ABOUT..for once!:yep PS...Pav wins though.
Yes!! Only the ATG and still currently ranked #4 p4p did it, quite ****in' well btw, with a foot of snot having to be pulled off of Pav's face when he got to the stool. Anybody that wants to deny this ****...WATCH THE FIGHT!!...Pavlik literally had snot hanging a got damn foot or more from his nose! NOBODY could compete with Mr. Bernard "the Mother ****in' Executioner" Hopkins, without being 110%. 100% agree with your post about Pav and PW being a BIG DADDY of a MW fight, and I too would love to see it go down. We may just have to agree to disagree on who will win. But that's half the fun anyways, right?:good
Back to this one Beenie, are you saying PW has the ring experience and style of Bernard Hopkins? They are night and day different. IMO, Hopkins would eat up Williams with exactly the same plan/way he did Pav. If PW doesn't have a foot of snot hanging from his nose, it would prolly look more like Hops vs. Tarver, both being South Paws etc.:yep If you disagree with that, then atleast tell me who are "the few exceptions"?
